.........
Might be close enough for some of us central cal folks to attend.
Now if only I had a functional car.
Sat. or Sun. I like lunch the best. It lasts longer.
Martin, since your at work...can I ask you when is the 1st one ?
//////////
How about Sat. Nov. 11th? Thats a month from now.
Wow!!!!!! 24 votes!! That would be a hell of a turn out! Something tells me other people are voting but do not live near here?
...........
30 Now! Wow! I don't care where we meet. I don't think anybody does. Another place is Palm Street Bar & Grill in Carmichael. We had one there not long ago. great parking, great food and I can reserve a special area. (Just an idea). Not that just it is close to me but a great menu. Everybody chime in where!!!!!!
Weekends (Saturday) are easier to travel a distance. Though I voted for breakfast, lunch would make more sense if people from farther away were showing up.
I don't have any location suggestions, but defer to the wisdom of the group (is that a bad idea?)
Nov. 11 sounds like a good start.
...........
15 People? Would still be a huge amount of people & cars! I like it. Now lets see who you are.
Ok! Now let's Do a location! No! Let's do a poll! I do not go out to as many locations like Rob does but they all seem like great places. So......... Lets here it!
I am up for anywhere I will be there! (I know we have time)
I voted because I have family in Sacramento and visit occasionally. I voted for when I would most likely be able to attend. (Weekends)
I get 3 votes! I only used one so far. Hey, is this like three wishes from a genie?
I wish I had a GT
I wish I had unlimited gas
Now for the car
careful what you wish for
Sound's good ...Martin and I are going too have a busy week that week...We will be out Monday as its our Wedding Anniversary, out Thursday going too a Concert and then out Saturday with you guy's !!!
Cheezer's has awesome food, and parking lot is just right for the event .
See you all then
I think we want to set this up as a regular thing. How about each month on the Saturday closest to the 14th since this is a 914 holy day. So given that, our first could be Saturday the 11th at Cheezer's in Rancho Cordova at lets say 12:00 noon? We can rotate locations but lets keep the Saturday closest to the 14th thing going on...
Sounds good to me. I like it when a plan comes togeather. (Alison how soon do need the plates back?)
I am often working on Saturdays, but that would still be a better day for me. We could perhaps work it so we do them around town. Someplace off Garden Hwy, like Swabbies before the rains start, or the Sonic in Woodland, or Yuba City wherever that is; maybe someplace in Fairfield or Vacaville too, be more likely to pull people into participating if you can make it convenient from various locations.
Northern California encompasses a lot of territory, we could make it a scenic route to Poor Reds in Auburn, or in someplace in the Delta how about Al the Wop's(probalby can't say that here) in Locke?, make the journey equal or even superior to the conversation discussing it.
Hell(can I say that here?), we could even do a 914's at V.Sattui or some other convenient winery in Napa or Sonoma. The crush is coming up.
I like your ideas Toby. We could do a local lunch then a tour type lunch. Its to bad with all the people you see on the members map more people would join us or at least look at club site more often to see stuff like this. Oh well! I like Martin's idea to let PCA know about what we are up to. I know I will list these events on Ebay for free (Porsche 914) then see who shows up.

We will need an address at sometime.

How this Mikey?

perfect, Sunrise across the river to Zinfandel. May even persuade the wife to attend.
thanks BTW. My brother has a bark collar you can probably borrow. They work
..........
Our dog only needed the collar for a while, broke him of the habit. You just had to show him the collar and he would stop barking.
I am sort of afraid to bolt it down, would need the wheel to be in there face down, fear scraping it up, though it does have a good sized ding in the lip from a fireman being a little less than careful with it as he tossed it out the hole he chopped in the side of the house.
Toby with the tire properly inflated, it will not rub on the trunk floor, unless the floor is bent. Has the front of your car been hit?
Is there anyone attending the Nov. 11th Nor Cal Martinfest that would happen to be travelling back to So Cal area? I am trying to work some logistics on transporting two '75 bumpers from Sactown to somewhere withing striking distance to San Diego.
If anyone is able/willing to run the parts, please PM me.
Sorry for the and hope you all have a great event in any regards.
Cheers,
Hoss
It's quite a drive for Bay Area folks to attend, I went to one of the 914 Breakfasts in Santa something, 2 hour drive each way, it was an all day deal for me...so someone from SoCal is a SUPER DUPER long shot, but all 914 Folks are Welcome, and encouraged to attend!
We hope you get your bumpers one way or another!
Alison
.........
I invited my brother in law, he tends to be a bit overcommitted though, will check on the tie down thing, it does not really slide around, it just looked like it would rub, I had not checked it, has been hit, but not bad enough to do anything like that, I suppose I should not be too worried about this one anyway, got a bit of a chop mark on it
i'll be at the AX in stockton. my parents live there and this way i can tell my mom i came only to see her...oh what?? there is an auto cross event in stockton the same weekend, must be my lucky day?!?!?
........
Martin,
Which car are you bringing to the autocross this weekend so I know what to look for?
................
ah too bad..i'll just have to meet you at the lunch on the 11th.
anyone else going to be at the autox this weekend in stockton?
........
sounds good...i'll have to check out those flairs, i like em!
Martin and I are out for tomorrows AX. I am having my gall bladder removed on Monday.
Alison
Sorry to hear that! Hope everything works out ok! Wanda had hers removed not long ago. You will end up just fine!
Michael & Wanda
.........
Hook, what hook, you did not even drive.
Good luck with the gall bladder thing, may have to stay away from the little sausages from now on...
............
All the way to Fairfield? You do what you gotta I guess, she should do well, good luck again.
It was fun in Stockton, not too far either. Should have taken back roads home, but was in a hurry. Mather would be nice, seems to me one of the folks in the know said the facility was the one broke that off, not the PCA.
I dropped about 2 seconds off each run, is that 'bout average for a first time?
Loud and fast, good combo, kept backfiring late in the day. There was another grey top who was right next to me. Terry Zuccini, or something like that. Old 911 targa, did not get a pic, nice guy.
Famous eh? well what do I know from famous.
Guess that is why the other dude started laughing at me when I said, "You must be serious about this." to him when I commented regarding his getting on the knee pads and gloves when he was changing out his tires. If only I had the presence of mind to ask him why he called the car Marcel instead...
Mather would be nice, what about McLellan? Nobody flyin' outta there anymore, I bet they even have a runway that is not too awful. Perhaps over at the State Fairgrounds.
..........
...........
Glad to hear Alison made it through surgery and is on the mend.
I voted and am planning on being there on the 11th. It would be great to see a large (relatively speaking) group I don't think I have been around more than a handful of 914s at one time. See you all there, and thanks for the effort of organizing this.
Thanks ALL for the warm prayers .......Had surgery around 2.30pm for removal of my gall bladder, they released me around 8pm last night felt every damn bump in the road from Fairfield too Sac.
Today still very sore and having terrible shoulder tip pain.
Hopefully see you all on the 11th.
Hope all is well... We missed you both yesterday. Call me if you need anything.
Glad to hear everything went well See you on the 11th.
......
Hey Martin. What shifter setup are you using on the red car? When you took me for a ride I really liked the way shifted.
.......
Well I must have a bushing problem then cause yours is tighter than mine! I will have you check mine out on the 11th and will check yours also. ( I catch reverse on the down shift one more time trying to get 2nd i am in trouble)
Could also be you have a loose or worn cone screw. Take's a couple of seconds to check. I do have synthetic gear lube in the gearbox, but its not recommended. I will change it out soon.
Martin
Good to hear Alison came through it okay. 914 is the wrong car to ride in after surgery, probably especially that red one with the setup you have on it right now. Shoulda driven the 10 MPG car instead of the 30 MPG one.
Michael, could be your spring is getting sprung on that shifter. As I understand it, there is a little spring loaded doo dad that is supposed to keep you from nicking reverse going to second. Mine was really vague when the bushings were bad, and sort of similar when the cone screw backed out because I thought the new nylon insert meant no need for blue loctite.
////////
I would have thought you would feel every pebble and bottle cap you would hit. Seems like you been waitin' on a truck a while now.
The blue car street legal yet? You could be whipping around setting off people's car alarms before you know it

OMFG! What if it were to rain? Then what would I (we) do? I am sure there is covered parking for those of us who have changed all the correct fitting rubber seals (yea right) oh well. See you there.
I figure if it rains I will just have a wet vac and a bunch of towels ready. Not really sure if it leaks, I just assume it does.
It will.
..............
well unless its pouring, i'll be bringing mine, i figured i paid for the damn thing, might as well enjoy it:)
unless its raining...or leaking oil...or has a vacuum leak...or the tranny is missing gears...or the suspension is shaking...or its making a funny sound...or...
I'll be driving mine
If it's raining you'll see my custom tarp and bungie cord cover
It may be ugly, but it keeps the rain where it belongs! (was real cheap too)
I saw the weather report today. Looks a little wet for Sat. AM. I will drive the 914 if roads are wet but not if raining. New carpets, door panels and new rubber that doe's not fit like new. I like the top only cover idea w/bungie like Bill will be using. Anyway how about a body count of who's going?
...
You do know anyone on the club can vote! I am thinking 5 maybe 8 tops! (cars that is) I would like to see the better half show up for this! What else is up for a rain day! Lets all meet each other!!!!!!!!!!! Girl friends/Wifes?What ever!
God Dammit were the Capitol of California! Did the Germans stop at us at Pearl Harbor? No! Will we be here when the the big food comes? No!? Were the main stay of California! We have a right to be here! So go vote! Then show up on the the 11th and lets have lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I said it! That Settles it!
Your turn!
i really hope it doesnt rain because I have an annoying rattle that I want someone smarter than me to listen to and help me figure out :/

If you bring it Martin will figure it out!? Martin!?

Bump
I am coming, will try browbeating the wife into coming so Alison has someone to go outside and smoke with
Martin, that looks like Stockton Fairgrounds, when was that?
Michael, kill a chicken, or do whatever Voodoo Magic you do to change the weather to nice and sunny for Saturday
Yea I am working on it! Wanda will make it also. Maybe the rain will be over by 11:30 so we only have to drive on a wet road. But I will be doing some night time garage praying.
I'm still coming, but the chances of the 914 making an apperence are becoming smaller with the rain. Its not that I care much about the rain, its the added headache of rain/iffy transmission/engine that just makes it not worth it.
.............
Well. Wanda was going to come but now I am not sure Our German shepherd had surgery today to remove a very LARGE tumor and it turned out to worse than they thought as far as tumor tissue goes. Wanda picks her up at 5:00 today and they say she will be high maintance for a while (pain and cleaning stiches) Soooooo. She may not be able to make it tomorrow. No one to take care of her. But I will be there.
The wife apparently has a swole up lymph node in her neck, strep throat, she is on the ABx, but probably should not take Heather out in the rain.
Will have to put the windshield wipers on I should think, may just find out if she leaks
This one has a bionic knee
Hey Toby! I here Ya!!!!! Tonight is the first time I have ever seen my shepherd in so much pain!!!!!! I hope it stops soon!!! This is hard to take.
I will be there tomorrow come rain or shine. My wife has a previously scheduled gathering of friends Sat. morning, which usually runs into early afternoon. She won't be able to come with.
If it rains I won't have to wash my car in the morning!
Well. Looking at doppler radar it just may clear up enough by 12:00 By the way my dog is doing much better this morning.
Still had the side markers on
.......
i had a good time too, nice to finally put faces with the names. i'm happy to report that even after not seeing rain for roughly 20 years, all the seals held up and there was no water where its not supposed to be...not that i'm going to test it much in the rain, its nice to know I could if i needed to.
As usual a good time, good people, good food. Maybe I will bring my car next time Nice to meet you brett.
I have no idea where to start looking for the drains. I will jack up the pass. side and take a peak. I was going to run water through the fresh air vent and try to find the pass. drain but if I jack it up to far it may not drain. Or i may just live with it.
Hey! guess what? Hyanes has a picture of the drains! I might be in luck.
