LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED
Without this club I could not do this.
Team NARP...Ortega...and Toys For Tots
Talking to the Team members today we worked out the details of this event.
Hopefully it will be the biggest California 914 event of 2006. We have been putting $2.50 from each Team NARP sticker sale aside to go to Toys for Tots. Along with this we would like to give them some toys.
November 18, 2006. Come one come all, the more the better for the KIDS.
We're going to have a Fun Run from Corona to Team NARP Headquarters for a .
You don't have to do the run, you can just drive to Team NARP Headquarters.
You will have to bring with you 1 new unwraped toy worth at least $10.
The Fun Run will happen from the parking lot North East of The 15 and Cajalco. We've started many runs there.
Time, 9:14 of course, if your in a 911, just show up 3 minutes early.
This should put you all at Team NARP Headquarters at 11:30 and the "Q" should already be "ON".
I can't possibly think of a better reason to do this. My Bar-B-Q's, gather a lot of people together to have FUN. Well, this time we have a much better reason to gather. The Children. Come on, lets make it happen for them.
Please check the guest list.
Please bring your favorite beverage and a chair.

I'm in ; great idea. It's been a long time since we did an Ortega run.
Do AAA flatbeds travel Ortega?
You're doing a great thing & hope someone on the "right" coast does a similar event. Can't help from 2500 miles away, but best of luck!
Good cause!
Count me in.
-Tony
This I think I can make....
Aw man.....you're gonna run Ortega? Back in the day, with my first teener (1973), that was my favorite run....even better than old Laguna Canyon or Trabuco. Wish I could be there.
Somebody PM an address so I can send a toy - great idea Joe.
Done. And Thank You again.
You know Marc, I Bar-B-Q around Christmas also.
 Joe
Kool Marc, I'll see you then.

Can't belive the stuff I miss by not watching the second page.
 Joe
Gents,
Which city is CAJOLCO and what is its zip code. Also does Ortega have a highway number? It goes from where to where? I live on the other side of the County, and am not familiar with yours.
Thanks in advance,

Not an O
Clayton
I can't belive it, I posted this on the Bird board with a link and it worked.
 Joe
Hope y'all don't mind, I also fired an invite to the Riverside PCA group. And posted in the 944 forums at PP.
Probably OCR or 356 registry I would guess...
Found them on the 911 bird board. Posted a link. Gosh this link stuff is kewl.
 Joe
911 bird board moves faster than this one but I didn't see much humor.
 Joe
Joe, I got a big box to ship to you...8 or 10 toys... gonna need an addy...pm or email me before Monday if you can. Jim
With these people and thier attitude, how can I do wrong?
"Thanks Joe, glad to be of assistance...I do this every year and I still have some "budget" left for this area. It's for the kids...not getting a present at xmas has to SUCK bigtime....I do what I can....sorry I can't be part of the festivities... "Jim Tab
What can I say.
Joe

 Joe
Hey Robert: There is a drop-off point at Los Al. 1st Sgt Joseph Mascarenaz. I have his phone number. I need to ask if they can do a pick-up. I think we're going to need a TRUCK.
 Joe
Never heard of the guy. Is he a marine? army? girl scout? I'm there all day, every day M-F. If you want me to go chat with him, see about getting a 5-ton or something to swing by... huh? huh? I can get the local reporter girl to drop by with her camera and such...
**EDIT**
Hey Joe,
Just saw that guys name and number on the other site. I can check with him tomorrow and I'll send him an email from my gov't email as well. If they can't get a truck from their marine corps. guys, I'll see if I can convince an army truck to swing by. I know most of my unit's trucks were left behind in Iraq for incoming units... so, the motorpools around here may be a little, uhm, well, ya know.
Hey Joe, AZ division of Team NARP is backing you!
We have our Toys For Tots Breakfast run scheduled for the 10th of December. We are teaming up the the Honda Del Sol club (They have targa tops too), and hope to do some serious toy gathering.
Anyone who wants to treck to Arizona, let us know. We will find you a bed or a place to park an RV.
** Update **
Hey Joe,
I spoke with that Marine 1SG today. He sent me the paperwork to request the barrels for toys and a cashbox for donations if you want to go that route as well. You just need to fill it out with your info and I can give it back to him.
I'll bring it by today after work.
Oh yeah,
Oh boy are MEN in uniform going to do the pick up too??
Joe,
I could have sworn I saw on the news this morning that Toys R Us is doing some deal around the Toys for Tots Program. Something about doubling the contribution of toys.
Might be worth a call to them on the subject.
Oh, and I hope to make it to the
two toys being sent in the am....
two of my boys favorites....
Ron, you talking about like your white jacket? you received from true pals & buddies that thought you should be in.
do the afformentioned NARP stickers look like this??
Attached image(s)
Yep, those are the ones BJ.
 Joe
Hey Joe, You get that paperwork I left on your door yesterday? I thought you'd be home by the time I was able to finally get the key out of the d*mn ignition. Finally got it... left the paperwork... went home.
Yeah! Faxed it over and requested 2 men to stand by. I figured it would be good duty here, collecting toys, a Bad Dog, and on cars. Not to mention
I talked to the guy you talked to and I don't think it was 1st Sgt Joe.
Thanks bud.
 Joe
I can't wait.

Wow, I've missed a bit the last few days!
I plan on taking the audi wagon (nine fo' fo'). It should be a fun drive regardless since the 914 still doesn't have updated tags.
I've got an extra '07 tag.... WHAT could go wrong? lol
is there a definite address of that Staples or Best Buy? If so i might be able to make it out this weekend, no 914 this time around. And it's been a while since ive been at one of these events
I like that, get permission, and color match the out line to owners body color
i need 1 in Alaskan Blue
Sorry, I can't make 914club merch for people. Check with Mikez, he should be able to do that.

At these BBQs I always end up being the guy with the bottom half of me sticking out of someone's engine bay
Thanks for sticking your arse out of my engine bay Brandon!
New battery runs great. Got a tiny bit more power too!
Toast,
I took my battery to Autozone to dispose of it. They looked up my phone number and it had a 3 year warranty on it. I only bought it like 5 months ago. I didn't think they would cover it because it was obviously some type of cut across the top. Dunno wha happend toit... anyway. just wanted to drop it off and get rid of it. They handed me a new receipt and said grab a new battery on the way out, we're even!!! YEAH baby YEAH! $80 extra for, hm, tire cleaner, windex, lucas oil treatment... what else can I get with that... ooh ooh, LUNCH!!
Howard once told me that NARP stood for No Apparent Reason Party.
Well - in this case, Team NARP had a very good reason to party.
..... to collect donation for Toys for Tots.
*(and we did so with great success )
**(don't forget the )
Thanks to our ever gracious host - the one - the only - Mr. Joe Sharp.
***(thanks for giving us a location and an excuse to get together again and demonstrate what this Club is really all about)
It was great to see some old friends and make some new ones.
Thanks to the Team NARP Engineers for installing my new fog lights.
Aaron Didn't they tell you it's not safe to take pictures while trying to operate a motor vehicle.
I figured this would prolly be my last Road Trip for the year, so I decided to make it a good one.
I came down on Friday to carve some canyons. SR 6 going up to the Mount Palomar Observatory was awesome.
Then there was the Ortega Hwy Fun Run and caravan up PCH to Team NARP HQ.
Elvira and I also took the long way home going back to Vegas.
I saw this sweet GTO when I stopped for gas.
I wasn't the only one out playing.
The Pacifico License Plate from the Cardboard Splitter Project stayed on the entire trip.
I included a short leg on Route 66 for this Eric Shea inspired shot.
