Posted by: watsonrx13 Oct 13 2006, 08:22 PM

OK, it's 2 weeks until SEMA 2006, who's going?

My wife and I are planning to arrive in Lost Wages on Sunday, Oct 31. She's got us booked most of the evenings, but we're planning to attend the show during the day.

John, let us know your schedule bartending or the time you'll be at the show and we're hoping to see you again...

Is it true that the show is NOT open to the public? mad.gif I have always wanted to go. One of those do before I die type things, but was always under the impression you had to be "in the industry"or be in the Press to get in the door. confused24.gif

I'll be there too on the 31st, you realize that is a Tuesday and not a Sunday right? I'll be at the show from Tuesday afternoon through Friday... I'm just walking the booths all week so if anyone wants to meet up for lunch or something gimme a call.... 918-527-2651.

BTW, anyone know how NEO (Felix) is coming along on his project and where to find him at SEMA?

I'll be there ! ( I know... who cares ! ), but it is one of those events you need to do at least once before you go to the "Big Garage in the Sky". Sensory overload at it's finest. Here's a heads-up for those that are driving up from L.A. driving.gif

http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist8/devore2/index.htm

Traffic through the I15/I215 Devore Pass will be closed on Friday 11/3 thru Sunday 11/6 mad.gif . Plan ahead.

See you there.

Mark,
Once again nice job! I'll be looking for these at the show.

Does anyone know if Renegade will have a booth at the show? If so what building? Would anyone else be interested in joining up to take a trip to their shop?

Posted by: Maltese Falcon Oct 17 2006, 09:16 AM

Although it is Industry attendee only, the front areas: Gold lot and Silver lot are located just off the Blvd. and lots of the exhibit cars are open to public viewing.
Felix's NEO9146 will be on the Gold lot and is a must see drooley.gif
MSDSinc. will be inside the Race and Performance hall @ # 22226 and it's a good working vacation for me and the sales guys.
We network very hard at the show for business...but for many others it's a "Dog and Pony" show smile.gif

Posted by: 2pointOH Oct 18 2006, 08:50 PM

I'll be heading into Vegas on Friday the 27th and leaving Friday morning the 3rd. Have been to the show the last 4 years and it's off the hook....matter a fact the whole town is that week.

I have a branding and design firm and we have a few clients in the auto aftermarket and are calling on a number of others. We helped to rebrand Mid America Motorworks and all their branded customer touch points a couple years back. You can see some of this and other work on our site:

http://www.integrateinc.com

I contacted the member with the sweet dark silver 914/WRX hybrid as he lives in Vegas. We're trying to get together to look at the car Saturday after I get in town and get one night of stupidity under my belt. Maybe we can get some club members together??

Let me know if you are interested and if any of you have a booth and are displaying at the show so I can come by and say hello. And if any of you know of and have access to any of the VIP parties for SEMA and can show another 914 brother some love and get me and a friend in drinks (after the party) will be on me!!

John

I won't be there sad.gif .....

however, some parts that I made will be on the NEO-9146 show car smash.gif

Posted by: fat73 Oct 23 2006, 12:24 PM

I'll be there. I'm on my way right now from Tampa. I am currently in Nashville for today and part of tomorrow, then it's off to Kansas City, KS for 2 days, then heading for Vegas either late Thursday or Friday. My car will be displayed at Renegade Hybrids, and I plan on doing some crusing (if weather permits). The plan is to be there Mon-Wed for SEMA unless it's too much fun and I decide to stay longer. By the way the car's averaging 33+ MPG. Not sure what average speed is but 125+ will happen pretty quick and accelerating hard at that point.

We just dropped the car off at Yeamans. Due to the unfinished finish bodywork, I'm praying Scott gets the car painted by Wed but he can't commit. Then it's non-stop assembly "Overhaulin" style. wacko.gif Chris, Jim, Brent, Jason, Jon, John are going to lend a hand. PM me if anyone good at assembly can help...

Hooters or The HofbrÀuhaus?

Posted by: byndbad914 Oct 24 2006, 03:09 PM

I am somewhat at the mercy of the folks I am rolling out there with, so I have Mrdezyne and John's phone #s written down and in the wallet. I will most certainly look for Felix's car and meet him too. If it looks like the powers that be are down for going to dinner where you guys are, then I am in for sure.

As of yesterday it may just be me and my old boss (a couple guys are now not sure/whatever) and if so, probably not a problem to hook up with you guys.

Posted by: turboman808 Oct 24 2006, 03:44 PM

I was thinking of going just for the hell of it. None of my friends seemed intersted.

Posted by: mrdezyne Oct 24 2006, 04:00 PM

John, you are the local so just pick a spot and let us know where and what time. I just thought I'd get the ball rolling by picking a day. I think I'm staying at the Embassy Suites so I'll be walking or grabbing a taxi from there...

Posted by: VegasRacer Oct 24 2006, 04:38 PM

Everything around The Strip is sure to be crowded with SEMA in town.
How about the Hooters at 5675 W. Sahara Ave. beerchug.gif

I can run a taxi service with my van if anybody needs a ride.

What time does the show let out? confused24.gif

Show runs from 9-5 every day but Friday when it closes at 4. Exhibitors with passes can enter two hours early on show days.

John, PM me your cell number and I might have to take you up on that ride to dinner. Think we can con the guys from Renegade to joining us and maybe a shop tour after dinner?

Mark,

Sorry I won't be able to meet up with you, maybe next year.

I'll look for your car. Must be nice to have resources and facilities to build a car properly. You wouldn't believe the mess and tight room I've been working in...

After all the shaping, fiberglassing, filling, sanding, grinding, refilling, etc I think clay would have been a better and cleaner and just as fast method to make my parts... blink.gif

Live and learn...

Everybody else has been Mike Mueller for a day on the Pelican forum.
I don't see why I can't be his imposter for SEMA. ph34r.gif

First I will do my best Ferg impersonation on Neo914. Attached Image

Felix,
You'd be surprised at how much of the same grinding, filling and glassing we are still doing right now. Our cars ship tomorrow night after our internal show for DCX design staff.

My car should be done around 4:00 tonight, waiting for thr pinstriper to come and finish it off.

Have fun,
Mark

PS there are a bunch of sketches of the panel wagon out there, just type Dodge Nitro Panel into google.
