914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 915 clutch question

Posted by: East coaster Oct 20 2006, 07:33 PM

I lost my clutch last week and I pulled the tranny today and found that my throw out bearing came apart. The 915 TO bearing has a spacer/spring washer/circlip and I'm thinking maybe I assembled it wrong???

Here's a pic of the parts:

I assumed the clip went inside the pressure plate fingers, essentially mounting the TO bearing to the pressure plate. Now I'm thinking that's wrong?? Although it worked fine for about 500 miles, the spacer/spring washer and circlip came off and were laying inside the pressure plate springs, causing the clutch pedal to go to the floor. I'd post pics of the carnage, but my camera sh&t the bed too!! what a day headbang.gif

Help me out here boys!

My bad..........I had item #10 on the wrong side of the pressure plate. I guess that's what made it go.
