I can remove my throttle valve body and clean it? How often does this part break? How do I know if I need a new one?
thanks,
will
You can take it off and clean it.
Look for a sloppy shaft that wiggles in the body. If its shot you can have bushing installed which makes it operate nice and smooth without creating a vacuum leak.
Look at the TPS while you are at it. pop off the cover carefully and clean the traces/arms with a electronic contact cleaner. works wonders unless the traces are completely shot/worn out. Reset the TPS via the PelicanPart article. Then reinstall the Throttle body back on the engine.
