I have never had to remove the bumper to R & R a valence.

There's a few screws going into the body... that's all.

Hmmm...I'm confused then. I removed the two sheet metal screws on the underneath, inside part of the valence and the four self-tapping screws on the outside. The valence won't budge though, it's not even loose...? confused24.gif

IIRC it slides into position. Get a flashlight & look under the area where it is attached. There may be tabs that slide onto the body. You may need to push it forward or pull it back toward you. It's been so long since the last one I installed I can't remember for sure.

the fit on my bumper was tight and a little warped (the valance is wedged between the bumper and body panel on mine and i assume on others as well).
i had to loosen the bumper bolts to get her loose enough to slide the valance off.
