She's beautiful! I can't wait to see it run! Keep up the good work!
Will you have the light covers by then?
Bay Area teeners are invited to join the show as a "club".
We have three 914's commited and 3 more considering joining the fun. Free admission and the opportunity to represent our 914's to thousands of attendees...
Very proud of you. Wish I were more involved. Will never forgive myself for missing SEMA!!!!
And I was just about to ask if you were going to bring the neo to a teener gathering sometime soon... So, any chance of an organized meet 'n greet of teeners on Saturday? Just figuring that's the best day for maximum turnout -- I'm tempted to take a day off to catch the show.
914 is in hybernation.. I'll see about attending..
Well.. Im really torn on what to do with my car..
Im even considering a porsche 6.. (aircooled... watercooled... whatever...) but a turbo would be in order... BUUUT.. that would mean a lot more $$...
garage? the car is IN the garage... lol..
Lift? well... mom said NO on that.. oh well.. Uncle has one at his SHOP...
Felix,
Your car is beautiful. I respect your vision and quest. I wish you the best for 2007.
Dan
I'm really interested in joining the 914 crowd and getting into the San Jo show reduced price or free. I really want to see Neo in person. My '72 looks great from 15 feet and good up close. I took it to GAF and it fit right in, even got its pic on Pelican's site.
Felix- if you could post or PM more info I could definitely make it Sat-Sun and even more definitely if it is not raining for the drive down.
Chris: This is part of why I was suggesting we try to organize a specific time to meet 'n greet around Felix' car down at the San Jose show. For various reasons I've managed to miss the weekend get togethers I've heard rumor of over on the peninsula.
Heck, I haven't even made it to the Diablo PCA Saturday breakfasts on account of the uncivilized hour they meet at. If we were meeting at Thunder Hill I'd be there at 6AM, but up and out at 7:15AM for a cholesterol and transfats special at Denny's? Not likely...
Details from the coordinator:
Felix,
anxious for details....
by the way, are we on the first floor or on the main display floor?
Felix,
I am interesting in showing my bumblebee with this crew. I was originally concerned about having thousands of people around the cars (kids and stollers) and having something bad happen.
I feel more comfortable now knowing that the event will supply "• Rope and stanchions to protect your display of vehicles."
This sounds like alot of fun. Please count me in.
Dan- I believe the cars will be in the south hall which is the new tent like structure that the city purchased to expand for the Ebay conference several years ago. During the Champ car races it housed all the driver's rigs.

Great! list updated.
Ken's planning to join the party!
list updated...
Count me in. No car but I am there!
We will have 7-8 914's!!
For those showing cars, please make sure you've read all the details and ask me now. I will talk to the coordinator on Tuesday. I also need your cell numbers if you haven't sent them yet. Move in can be crazy and it's on a weeknight so be prepared to wait as it may be a late night. You should also have a spare key available if necessary (if you trust someone to move your car).
For those attending the "meet" on Saturday the 13th, parking together may be difficult. You can also leave your number with me in case we have spare tickets to share.
this should be a good time....lots of nice 914s in one spot with lots of folks seeing them in good order...
latest info:
Emails sent to the participants, contact me if you have any more questions. I spoke to the east coast coordinator, our space is reserved and they are open to how we want to position the cars. It will be a rectangle or square configuration. The model and individual sign bios are acceptable which Ken's wife is willing to design and print.
The Porsche racing club will not be present this year due their organization's recent re-org.
I'll get specific entrance details next week from the on-site coordinator.
Post or PM if you are attending any of the days and especially the Saturday meet. Chris Julian is attending Thursday night. Remember to wear your 914 hat's and shirts...
Hey Felix, if you need any help on Sat or Sun, let me know. Brian and I don't have any plans next weekend, and it's been years since we've been to the autoshow.
Jen
REALLY wish I could be there, but will be out of town for the event. Can we make this an annual event? Please take/post lots of photos...
What an inspiration you guys are.
I can echo what Jenny offered, exept I am free for any setup before the show or the 11th.
I love you man! ha ha ha ha.

I'm so envious!!! You fellas are so cool. Wish I was there and hope you showem good.
If nothing else.
Hey Felix, what would it take to pin this up in the Calendar?
My car is washed and almost ready but since it looks so good I want to go drive it
T
Admins, please pin this thread
There has been a lot of advertising for this event in the past week. It seems that I can't turn a page of the Mercury News with out seeing a add. I think this is the first year they are expanding the show to include a aftermarket section with the DUB guys, Corvette club as well as classic Mustangs. In the past there has been space for a few club cars but never a whole hall given to cars other than new models. I am excited!!!
I think we will represent the 914 contingent very well. You're right...in the past a couple race Porsches and a few mustangs from the Shelby club...this is going to be nice....I plan on taking the car down on Wednesday afternoon, anyone else going to be there?
I will be heading down at 10am, I have to be able to drop off the car and make it back home before going into work at 1pm. Hopefully the hall will be run smoothly enough to get the cars staged in a reasonable amount of time. I drove by the south hall today and there are already people working in it.
Participants in/out badges will be given at entry. Your names are on the list.
Looks like Tom, Micheal, and Dan will bring their cars in the morning. I'll stop by when we layout our area and to distribute the tickets.
Olav, Ed, and I will bring our cars in the afternoon.
Remember to have <1/4 tank of gas and bring wipe towels. Make sure you get the info to Kathy for the signage.
I heard Togo's is giving $2 discount tickets
I plan on going down around 4 on Wednesday....as long as my current schedule holds....constantly in flux.
Felix, the initial blurb we got from you said we would be getting exhibitors badges and 10 tickets each....is this correct or did I misread something?
thanks
Jenny and all,
The show participants each have one in/out badge for the duration of the show that they can loan when not at the show. The schedule can help us coordinate any sharing of them, PM one of them to make arrangements. The participants also each have one ticket for their spouse or friend if they need/want it. I'll give the extras to whomever makes the time to be at the show and our display. They sent 10 tickets for 5 cars but they didn't account when we increased to 7 cars. I will ask for more.
A representative was requested but not mandatory to be at the display so we don't need more than one person at a time. It's mainly a curtesy to answer questions and added security for our cars.
The only planned activity is a lunch in the show (requiring entry) and photo on Saturday. If many people don't want to attend the show we can also have a lunch and photo outside the facility. I'm sure we can leave the cars unattended during this time.
We are representing our community, let's refrain from:
I don't know if it would be appropriate but i was thinking of doing some kind of display for the LED taillights. They still need work but I have a working set that can be shown. Due to time restraints I would need a little help setting up to make it presentable. If you think I can present it there and someone want to help me out I can tell you what I need. I will also give the display to someone that will be there starting Thursday because I won't be able to make it there till Saturday.
If you want to help send me a PM and I'll give you my number and we can discuss details. Thanks
Dropped off the car this morning and met Felix and Tom to stage the cars. Not nearly as hectic as I thought it would be. It was actually pretty easy to get the cars staged.
Talking to one of the show managers he stated that during the show that there will not be someone checking for tickets to get in to the south hall. What that means for us is that anyone who wants to get to the 914 area and not into the regular show can go to the south hall and meet up with the group at the 914 display area for free.
We've got great 914 examples for our display and can plan a bigger one next year
If anyone needs tickets PM me I have a few available first come basis. I will reserve tickets for Brent, Chris, Paul, Jenny, and Brian.
Thanks dood! I might swing by Friday afternoon, if that's alright. Should I plan to get a ticket from you for that as well, or just sneak in thru the south hall?
Jen
Okay, can you PM me your # just in case I get turned around when I get there.
anyone going to be there Thrusday around lunch time ??
I might head on over there with the girls
Okay - We're set!
Olav was entering as I left so all cars are now staged. Again thank you to Felix for pulling this together. A thank you is also due to Ken for putting together the signs - they look great!
Here are a few pictures from the set up this afternoon. Sorry for the quality they are from my camera phone but better than nothing eh.

Ken put together our signs and this poster for the booth
Trevor, thanks for posting those preliminary shots. I will be getting quite a few on Sat.
Nice finally meeting you. Hopefully will see you on Sat.
a nice group of 7 teeners. 2 conversions, 2 6s, a bumblebee and your 1.7 and my 2.0L puttputt.
Man i can't wait for to see it on Saturday. I hope that I don't have to work. The taillights need more setup time so I'll try to do better next year. Thanks for the initial pictures Trevor.
Thanks for the pics Trevor.
I agree with Dan - very nice cross section of Teeners. The lineup looks great too - can't wait to see them tomorrow or Friday with all the lights on!
Keep 'em flying,
James says the SCION's near us are rolling concerts so expect a party atmosphere. One of them has a custom interior done by the same upholsterer who did my interior.
The display looks very professional with Ken's signage.

can't make it before Saturday....we are having our house fumigated for termites tomorrow and we are having to pack up all our food etc and other such stuff to get ready.
sorry guys
Hey SJ participants. I managed to "host" from noon to 2:30pm. Not many people as the show just opened, but did get to boast about the Neo914 a bit. There was even a past owner of a Bumble Bee reminiscing(sp) and spoke about he and Scott Yeahman back in the day. I guess he owned a supermarket near Scott's place. Very nice 914 love! I'll be heading back tonight.
YES, you do NOT need a ticket to enter the tent area. Good and bad. Bad part is anyone with interest can head in from the elements. Felix, your cap was still there when I left.
-B
I'll be leaving from El Cerrito to drive my 914 down to the the SJ Auto show around 9:30-10am. If you want to caravan down there that would be sweet. PM me or reply here.
Felix, Dan, Trevor, Ken et al., I would really appreciate it if there was a free or discount pass into the show I could use...South Hall for free will be nice for sure.
I am making this Saturday "914 fun day" and plan to do some more stuff after the auto show; head to either Yeaman's, another 914 owner's garage doing an EV conversion, or to a SF garage where ther is beer and 914 race car cutting/prep. Let's roll!
Hmmmm.. What's THIS all about...
There's enough 914 enthusiasm for everyone...
Brent at work...he's already set up a few race for pinks, drifting, and hydraulic contests with the lowriders.
YOU GUYS ROCK !!!!!
It all looks great. If I weren't already interested I would be after this...
See all of you there tomorrow. Can't wait.
Cut down tire on the 944. Snapped clutch cable on the 914-4. And now the 914-6 won't start. It would appear I am not meant to be there, cause I've only got summer-weight gear for the bike and it's too cold for it, as I found out yesterday... Sigh.
Some of the local 914 crew gathered at noon today at the car show. Here are some photos.

My car again
The great signs done by Ken
The cars staged
Tom, Bill, and Chris (I believe) talking with Marc from Infineon Raceway
Felix on the phone, again
Crew staging
Jenny - Dancing I think
And finally
1st 914 group lunch for '07.
L to R: Olav, Tom, Ken, Chris, Paul, Paul's friend, Bill, Jenny, Brian, John, Brent's son
If anyone needs tickets to the show, I left a few in the drivers seat of my car.
Well I must have just missed the crew get together because I was there around Noon also, so I thought I'd show my pics also. My camera battery was dying so I didnt get tons of pics, but I did get the ones that matter:)
914 content...I loved seeing these, not only good turn out but gives inspiration to what mine will be:)
more
last of the 914 content
and some extra shots...
while most of the low riders arnt my thing, I sure respect the level of attention they give to detail...plus they really drive their cars often!
biosurfer1 - Sorry we missed you. You can see some of us standing around at the top of your first picture. We're all the ugly ones; except Jenny of course!
T
I drove my 914 all day today, no problems
Great to meet all of you and thanks again to Felix! I can't wait to see Neo 914 on the road
Somebody ripped my name off the board. I wonder who would do such a thing...
Attached image(s)
sorry I missed everyone, we went on Friday afternoon
Mike - your daughters are going to have expensive taste when it comes to cars. They look pretty charged up in front of that new 911.
cool! jenny wore my shirt
Went today, mid-late afternoon. Sorry to have missed everyone (and very sorry not to have gotten back to Felix in a timely fashion!) but it was cool to see the cars there.
Talked to a guy at the Porsche stand who has been with the company forever. He and Pedro Rodriguez drove the Tapiro from Mexico City (I think) up to the States. He claimed 86 916s were made, which I'm pretty sure is incorrect, but he had some interesting stories...
--DD
interesting stuff Dave. I spoke to Rob Eglsaer (Stevens Creek Porsche Fleet Manager) he used to race 914s back in the 70s as well.
He was very impressed with our little display of 914s.
It was great seeing everyone there. The cars looked fabulous! What a wonderful representation of cars we all wish we had! It was nice to meet Trevor face to face. For the record, I was not dancing in that second picture. I thought we were just 'staging' the shot, not actually taking it. I was mid-something (stride?), but definately not dancing.
Daniel: I was stoked to get the shirt in time for the show. Thanks. It's a bit small (I can usually wear an XS-S... WTF? Maybe extra pounds from the holidays? ) but I stretched it into submission. Thanks!
Jen
Michael, Trevor, John, and I had fun loading the neo914 in a "couple" of hours. They pushed it the length of the tent while I sat in to steer around the Ferraris and Corvettes... first drive!
We repositioned the come along and moved the car back and forward several times to line it up with the trailer. Driving the trailer/truck forward to the right finally did the trick, Brilliat Trevor! I couldn't remember how I did this myself while at SEMA...
Hope we can all get together again soon.
