914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Vibrations

At about 70 MPH vibrations start coming from the (left) rear wheels. It also sometimes starts to shudder at hard acceleration and fast turns to the right, but never during braking.

Engine and gearbox mounts are okay; rear wheels were balanced once more but the problem remained. Rear wheel bearings were renewed 2 years ago.

Worn drive shaft joints? Or wheel arm play (problem with the rubber bearings)?

Any other options? idea.gif

we had a thread early this year on bad bearings. I wonder if this is the same?

Check your tires for a shifted belt.
Rotate them and see if the problem goes to the front.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Oh, and the wheels are balanced, that is the first thing I checked. laugh.gif

I'm going to go with the rotate idea. Move the wheel/tire combo to another spot on the car for testing purposes and see if it follows (like Mark said).

I have a vibration from 115 to a little over 120, I think it's the shock wave.

I don't think I really want to know what your "vibration" consists off... laugh.gif

Anywayz, I will rotate the wheels from rear to front.
