L21E? Looks to be factory Tangerine of that year....1970 1971
Real close to my Phoenix Red...L32K
The Brumos cars were "Tangerine!"
.....my favorite color

Dekman.. I thought your car was phoenix red!
Looks like it in said picture.. then again, the lighting is different than the rest.
Pheonix red is much a much 'yellower' orange -like a PMS 021
Phoenix Red has more red in it than Tangerine...

I had my car painted in L32K but it came out less red that I imagined it would.
is L21E a porsche paint code?
any idea what the crossover is for a PPG code....
Steve,
Try this site to match the color:

I'm confused. Some of the colours being claimed here don't look like what I thought.
I thoght -
Signal Orange L20E was the ligthest orange
Then Nepal Orange L20C is a bright pure orange
Phoenic Red L32K is then like the Nepal Orange with a bit of red added
Tangerine is then even more red/pinky orange again. Almost like 'grapefruit'
I wouldn't have said either of the 2 cars at the start of this thread were Tangerine.
Does anyone have a picture of a car that they know is an exact Tangerine colour ?
Maybe an original picture. (Not many of these cars havn't been resprayed these days!)
My car is L21E Tangerine or "Blood orange". Single stage....5 coats. Honest.

Definitely L21E!

Thanks for this.
I feel well and truely Tango'd !!
I'm deciding what shade of orange to respray my car. Bit keen on Orange having some Dutch bloood in me !
Tangerine might be the one for me then. It is less red than I thought.
The other car I had seen in this colour must have been 'off shade'
Is the '59' race car at the top of this thread Tangerine as well ? Looks a bit lighter but may just be the lighting
Tangerine is one of those colours that can look totally different depending on lighting conditions.
Here are 2 pictures of my original paint Tangerine 912 taken on 2 different days:
Lighting definitely has a big effect, as well as photo processing. My race photos are professionally taken and they are intentionally oversaturated for enlargement purposes.
Another factor is if the paint is aged or if it has been resprayed. I had my paint custom matched to a hidden piece of the bodywork that wasn't faded instead of following a book formula for the color.
I had a close look at 5 Brumos 914s at the first Rennsport Reunion. They were all definitely Tangerine.
