914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Makin progress on the engine

So I called up Raby's place this morning. Excellent response time and I've now got a cam, lifters, pistons and cylinders all on the way!

Now I just need an engine gasket kit, oil filter, assembly lube (uhuhuhuh, lube, uhuhuhuhuh) and some sealant and the bitch is going together smile.gif

Woo woo! biggrin.gif burnout.gif

Now I can sell that set of 94mm P&Cs that I got lying around since I won't be using them. What's a good going price for a set of good condition 94mm P&Cs?

Swoot!

Just picked up my repaired heads from Rimco (cracks are fixed now) and a set of main bearings. This afternoon the cam bearings and engine seal/gasket kit arrived. Now all I need is my P&Cs and cam to arrive and I'm ready to start assembling the bottom end. I think tomorrow and Thursday I'll get a lot of the small engine tin pieces soaking in the solvent and ready to repaint next week. I'll also put my old 94mm P&Cs in the "mechanic's ambrosia" to gestate a while and get all the old gunk off and get them ready to be sold.

I plan on starting the assembly next week, after I get the rest of the little misc. pieces cleaned up and ready. Hoorah smile.gif

After a few more 'little things' I will get on the assembly pics. I actually looked at all my paperwork today...

Head combustion chambers were matched to 55cc each, new stainless valves, new guides, spark plug hole cracks repaired, new seats, cleaned up head surfaces (were previously decked).

Pistons and Cylinders are 96mm.

The rest is all stock 2.0... Except the 7lb flywheel I got. This should be a peppy little 2.0 L-Jet car. biggrin.gif
