914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Guide tube 901 transaxle

Posted by: shoguneagle Jan 10 2007, 04:48 AM

I have a question - Does the 901 transaxle and clutch assembly have a "guide tude" which attaches to the throw-out bearing?? If so, where can one be obtained??

I think I saw one in a picture of the 901 input shaft and throw-out bearing, but the picture was very dark.

Thanks,
Steve Hurt

Nope, there is nothing attached to the throw-out bearing but the throw-out arm. There is a "guide tube" that is bolted to the transmission case, which slides on over the input shaft.

It's #5 in the picture here:

I've been having a shifting issue when the the car warms up. It was suggested (here)that it could be the guide tube is groved or not well greased. Wondering if this was your issue also?
