that looks pretty good. what thickness is the metal?
how far forward does the lower part go? it doesn't look like it would cover the complete length of the long.

i like the rear piece, i could have used that some years ago when i fixed my hell-hole ...

I put these pics on the site so everyone could see the parts from both sides before they started to repair their 914 in these areas. I wanted also to show the seat belt bolt. These particular pieces are one size thicker than the original pieces they replace and have been reinforced in the appropriate places.

I just made mine last month. welder.gif It helps to havea shear and a break.
I used .063" steel sprayed with Galva-coat.
Yes its heavier but it should last longer than I own the car and oh ya, it lowers my center of gravity.
I see yours only have one inspection hole but my original had 2. My new ones don't have any inspection holes but I can still put some in before I paint the car. What would the benefit of them be???
