914World.com _ 914World Garage _ bumper tops anything other than rubber?

Posted by: rfuerst911sc Jan 26 2007, 04:07 PM

One of the many projects I will be doing on my 75 is to backdate the bumpers. I have the bumpers but I don't have the bumper tops. As I am searching for decent used tops I was wondering does anyone make fiberglass tops? Or some other material? Just curious. beerchug.gif

Yes, there are fiberglass tops out there.
There are some on ebay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4634996638
They seem to always be available there with a "Buy It Now" but every so often they pop up for regular bidding.

I got mine on regular bidding, and from 5 feet you can't tell they aren't OEM rubber.

I do not know how close you want to get with your finish, but there is a rubber like paint I have seen to be used on tools. MSG L
