I removed the oilk tank from the Blond for cleaning (What a bitch!) It turns out, the leak I've had under the tank was not from the lines. It was from the oil filter console.
Some dickhead replaced one of the allen head bolts with a long pan head sheetmetal screw.
I need to find a site for odd sized metric hardware.
Karl? I know you were looking for stuff like that...
Look in VWTrends or the other one, there is a company called something stainless that sells all stainless steel nuts and bolts for VW/914 applications.
I think simply stainless or something like that.

you can view their online catalog. It's in .pdf, but is VERY comprehensive. You just have to dig. I order from Dallas. There may be a minimum order, however.

Here's another outlet, no website that I know of:
Metric Specialties, (800) 800-6696
If you have a sheetmetal screw in place than your threads are probably stripped and will need to be tapped. There's my happy thought for the day.
About 2 years ago I got all the oil tank related hardware , o-rings, etc, from the dealer using PET to get the numbers. Prices were acceptable.
Red Beard,
I used to go through the same pain of trying to order odd metric hardware until I found Marshalls Hardware right here IN SAN DIEGO! Ok, maybe I'm too excited about Marshalls - but I love the place! They have rows and rows of metric hardware and have always had what I'm looking for. Plus, you can buy just one or a whole box.

Try these guys - I have yet to come up empty handed when looking for a gear-head item of any kind, metric or imperial. Just ordered some SS nuts/bolts for my muffler hookup. Also found those rubber isolators (fuel pump mount, etc, etc) there. They have no minimum order, their prices are excellent, and they ship faster than any other 'net vendor I've used:

I just ordered some #0-80 screws and a tap from them. Amazingly they stock down to #000-120 size! Their metric selection is pretty good too. Might not be as good as some of the specialty metric places though.

Try Mr. Metric

Has anyone actually tried a CAT dealer for Metric hardware ??
I have read about it 8-10 times but I never hear whether anyone actually bought anything.
b
I faxed my list to two local CAT dealers and they had only about 25% of the sizes I needed
Ill throw in my http://www.marylandmetric.com/ they did have a minimum last time I ordered
Hey! Look what came today!
And I got some new schnorr washers as well
Attached image(s)
Schnoor?
Typo.. schnorr
I saw those on the other post. Now I know what to ask for.

I've purchased from these guys. They have complete kits (body, engine, etc.) individually wrapped and labeled. They are VW kits (type 1), but they sell singles. Maybe they have T4 stuff now ?
If we had a complete list of every nut 'n bolt, maybe they could make a kit ??
Steve Stromberg found them for me....
$0.31
Now I'm even more pissed. The bozo didn't replace a $0.31 part!
I bought a new o-ring when I ordered the new hard oil lines. I bought all new lines and all new rubber parts for the oil system. I'm glad I did!
I can't believe the leak was because of this.
I should change the name of the blond to the "Gudda" Six.
