914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Which plug to install my CHT gauge on?

Posted by: terrymason Feb 25 2007, 10:45 AM

I'm installing my new CHT guage, and have a question:

Which plug should I install the sender on? I seem to remember it being the 3rd plug, but I'm not really sure. Is the thrid plug the front most on the passanger side of the car?

Thanks guys

Yep, #3. It usually runs the hottest with stock cooling.

Which one exactly was the #3 again?

The rear passenger side plug (3rd).

Just curious...which CHT did you buy?

I bought one from CB performance. It's a VDO gauge.

That's great...I'm still wresting which one to buy, it's down to three:
1)VDO Good looking, reasonably priced, not temperature compensating

2)http://aircraft-spruce.com/catalog/inpages/CHT_gauges2.php...still reasonably priced, and temperature compensating! Looks OK, but won't blend in as well with stock gauges in a console...my opinion

3)http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=348/prd348.htm...series2 (black bezel)...a bit pricy, most accurate, quick response..but I can't see it with my other stock gauges.
