914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Questions on Converting my 914 to 3.0 six power

Posted by: Van914 Mar 3 2007, 12:40 PM

I am looking for help here. Currently I have a 2.2 six so I have the oil tank and lines. I am looking at stuffing a 3.0 in place of the 2.2.

Question #1
Will the motor fit with the injection without cutting the rear bulkhead?

Question #2
What size lines do I need to run to the oil cooler?
-12 or -16

Thanks for the help
Van

3.0 mounting with cis....weld the engine mount in standard location, weld a one inch spacer to the rich johnson mount....and a one inch spacer to tranny mount..effectively dropping the whole drive train one inch....engine tin will still seal to engine rubber.....and there will be about a quater inch of room beind the cis distributor...you may have to change some of the fittings for the distrubutor gas lines...old vw injection fittings where what i used....ta-da....
i used 12an for fittings.....
and h/d copper lines for running up the longs
