Anyone know what it takes to back date a 993 engine from VarioRam to pre-OBD-II F.I.?

Potential cost?

The basic engines are the same with a small difference in valve size.. The vario ram is very sought after in the 911 crowd but won't fit in a 914 without a hack.

It would be easy to swap everything with someone with a 911 and put cash in your pocket, probably about $500.00. You would just swap complete intakes, wiring harness, and computers. Should be a bolt in deal. The OBDI computer has chips that can be burned for cheap and the OBDII (96 up vario-ram) cost about a grand to reprogram and get rid of the Drive Block Immobilizer. Much easier with the 95 or less years.

I bought a 95 for that exact reason.
