I bought bumper pads last year with the plan on making new ones in the future. The fronts are now $500 and rears $300.
I was just wondering what parts are becoming scarce or have gone up in price a bunch in the last little while?

I have a case of KY with Slit's name on it.
Don't laugh. It was made in 1945 for him exclusively.

It is very admirable that you are taking on the production of the bumper top seals. We really need more people interested in remaking obsolete factory parts! One man cannot do it all!

Targa top seal.
that one maybe not so much, if his Bruceness has anything to do about it. I snapped up a few sets of tail light lenses and spare axles with CV joints when I got the car. Still need to get a spare tranny.
BTW, I think Bruce may be thinking of rubber stuff, as he is making rubber parts.
Oh yeah, Bruce, do you have a list of the stuff you have produced? I was thinking of just buying one of each thing you make, just because.

Front USDM turn signal lenses, not the warts & actual euro housings for front turn signals. Something tells me however, even the warts might be in high demand one day .

Tailshift trannys that haven't been converted to sideshift. Those will be really hard for the resto guys to find in a couple years.

I really don't think that will be a problem. I have at least three of them myself, and I'll bet there are one or two at the shop.

I was asked about those at the WWC05, it turns out they are a VW part which is available from bug shops (sorry don't know the part number). If they do run out I can make them.

Just because they say they have doesn't mean they do.....when my 70 conversion lost the switch and the tumbler...they were no where to be found....now this WAS 1994.....maybe they suddenly were found in the lost wharehouse.
