OK i have my engine and trans in and it fired up first crank!!! biggrin.gif piratenanner.gif smilie_pokal.gif thumb3d.gif but...

when I step on the clutch no matter at what level of adjustment the engine revs?!! WTF.gif alfred.gif blink.gif slap.gif ... anybody got any ideas?

Posted by: akellym Mar 24 2007, 11:09 PM

sounds like your throtle cable is wrapped around your clutch linkage.

Posted by: Martin Baker Mar 24 2007, 11:10 PM

Good chance the clutch cable is wrapped around the throttle cable...

Posted by: akellym Mar 24 2007, 11:11 PM

check by the peddle cluster

Posted by: scotty b Mar 24 2007, 11:12 PM

Cables gone twisty twisty blink.gif When you push on the gas your clutch should engage, and you tach cable now runs the speedo and the speedo cable activates the thermastat and the thermostat cable now runs the tach. All of this can be offset by putting the right rear tire on the front left and the front right tire on the rear right. Fill the gas tank with half kerosene and half jet fuel and turn your shift lever around. Oh and don't forget to install a RHD pedal cluster huh.gif

You asked a q. I answered it. finger.gif i don't need an english lesson. I speak Okie just fine

Posted by: sk8kat1 Mar 25 2007, 10:58 PM

ok in all seriousness biggrin.gif ... the cables as they exit the firewall are completely away from each other and I didn't do any thing with them on the engine swap... is it possible they just got a lil tweeked from the engine bay side to twist them in the tunnel ?!

how much does it really take to make this sort of thing happen? blink.gif

Posted by: rjames Mar 25 2007, 11:18 PM

Good chance that are hung up on each other in the tunnel. Check near where the cables attach to the pedal cluster and go back towards the rear firewall from there. A small mirror and a flashlight will be your friends there.
