I saw a $199 set of 2.0 P&Cs then saw $800 prices in the mags. What is a decent price for OE US or Euro P&Cs and where?

I got my 96mm from Jake. Nice KB pistons, Hastings rings, Mahle barrels, think it was $550 or so.

Proababy the best stuff for the price and there is no hassle with making up something that works from several different places.

Probably Chinese, Brazilian, or Mexican made and of iffy quality.
I bought a set of euro spec Mahle's from GPR a couple of years ago and they were around $400.00...

I got the mahle euro P/C's and a complete rebuild kit, even came with build lube, loctite, etc., etc. for about $500 from Engine Builders Supply (EBS) the advertise in all the P car magazines.

Standard price for Chinese 96s. That's what all the 2056 kits get. They're a decent setup.

I don't know much about these cans, but I'm going to try them.

That's SWEET!!! Those are probably cast. I think that's why they're cheaper. The LN engineering ones are billet which is flat stupid. That's partly why they cost $2200, because you're paying for three times the aluminium than you should be just to say "they're billet." Just my two Washingtons.

that is the big bore kit made in china that everyone sells for 299.50. It is ok for extra power on a budget. We would only install the mahle euro set though . all suppliers sell it for about 475.00

I would think that you would have to cut the case to fit these

No, it's so you can have the piece of mind that comes with a developed component with 8 years worth of R&D and satisfied users behind it.
FYI_ The plating process that is done on the Nickies is the biggest cost difference- All that scrap aluminum doesn't cost you a dime... Thats because it all goes backl to Alcoa to be recycled.
Posted by: crash914 Apr 11 2007, 06:28 PM
for sure not as nice as my set of real "Nickies"
Posted by: Matt Romanowski Apr 11 2007, 09:13 PM
I don't believe that Alcoa is paying the same for scrap as their selling it for - At least they didn't when I was sending trailer loads back!
