That's not an air firter at all. It is an engine case oil breather wink.gif

If you want a filter that is light and has good flow, check out these:
http://www.itgairfilters.com/megaflow.asp

Get flow from the top and the sides, seems like a good idea to me.

BTW, yes that does look like the place where an oil breather would be, that's where the one on my car is.

Is this the Triad linkage ?? I "kinda" like that throttle cable bracket.

Just FYI Jared... those air cleaner setups can run 300$+ compared to a K+N setup from CB for 100$

They also call it the puke box....has a k&n style foam inside....I have a bugpack model on my 2.4 in the 356.

Well, that's my car. The throttle linkage I believe was CB unit, bought back in the 80's- there were two crossbar holes, one higher than the other and I cut one off. The cable bracket was home made- easy to route the cable with the arms pointing towards the back. The air filters again were purchased back in the 80's and I don't know what brand. They have a metal mesh that the foam stretches over and I welded a bung on them for the fuel tank vent. Recently purchased the new red foam covers that are just pre filters for regular K&N style type. You are right about the crankcase breather- no foam inside though. Dave H

FYI - the ITG filters are LOUD and don't even think about them if you drive or park your car in the rain. I love 'em, but they are really intended for track cars.

I knew those ITG's were $$$, but they do look like they flow like an m'er f'er. I wonder if you can get some kind of fancy top to help my k&n filters to flow better. Every little bit helps eh?

BTW Chris...can you post more closeup pics of your car w/ the 6-cyl race setup you're running now? That'd be great!

Nathan, you are not the only person who has reminded me that I haven't taken any decent pics in months. The car looked and ran pretty sweet at the track today, and there were LOTS of other killer cars there including TWO brand new (first event) GT3 Cup cars. And I forgot my camera, LOL.

I do however have a pic of the ITG filters & Webers -
