I have taken the sender apart twice. Measured resistance at the sender and results were good. Also measured the resistance at the back of the guage and they were also good.
So I am pretty sure the problem is in the guage. Any suggestions here? I have never taken this guage apart before. What am I looking for?
thanks in advance.
I should add that the guage appears stuck at about 1/3. If I tap on it, it will sometimes jump up to 1/2 even though the tank is nearly full.
Reserve light works fine.
Just replace the gauge module. It should be pretty cheap to get a used one (or the whole combo gauge) from the classifieds here. A lot easier than trying to fix the electronics in the gauge.
