Scenario: driver calls last night 11pm, says the car will be here at 7am, long story short, I get a few more calls and the car will be here between 3 and 6pm. I'll update..
Still waiting, is it custom to tip the driver?
Not when he is 10hours late
Seriously I have no idea.
Maybe you should buy him a nice watch!
Got a call from the driver, stuck in traffic might not be here today.
I didn't realize NYC traffic could make you 2 days late?
I bet he stopped at every massage parlore on the way down.
Happy happy ending sir?
OKAY... it's been long enough to do the...
I know it not your fault... but it is a time thing... you post and we reply
Pics of what?
How about pics of your clean garage? Or some of your wife and kids, anything you want to take pics of, they just want something, I dont think it really matters.
Not married
So some random pics of my other hobbies.
How about a girlfriend? Everyone here likes girl pics, just make them clean or put it in the Sandbox
You guys sure do love pics
so when the car does come, what kind of "defects" or problems caused by the shipper should I look for, given that we bought the car from across the country, and we never saw it in person....
a tip...plastics.
k
look for any body damage that is not recorded on preship inspection.
look for any suspension damage, ie a-arms, trailing arms, half shafts, engine mount bar. they like to tie them down at these points.
ever seen "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" - check the mileage, that driver may be out joy riding... LOL
Pics of your girlfriend would have been good... or maybe your mom. Got any pics of your mom? Want to buy some?
Look at where the dude put the chains or straps. If they are attached at the shocks, axels, sheet metal ect. Thats where you will see some delivery damage. If the bumpers are bent, check inside the trunks at the trunk floors to see if they are humped or kinked up and don't match each side. Look at the exhaust, if it sticks out past the bumper and was low, he might have bent the exhaust and even cracked a head. The car needs to be held on the trainler form underneath not from the body. Do all the fenders lign up or is one out of whack like its been accidented? Is all the glass still in good shape? Did the body scrape on the trailer when rolled off, look for scrape marks. Just look for anything the driver does or has done to hold your car down and role it off the trailer.
As for pictures, aaaaaaaaah..................................how about your pet if you have one, please don't embaras your self with goats or sheep if thats what ya got, and don't forget to post a pic of the car when you get it home!
Spoke: thing is, they dont have all the money yet...they have a deposit, and they recieve the rest of it when they deliver it....
JPB: good tips, and thanks...will defiently look for theses points tomorrow morning....bright and early... and will post pics....
then the ? is how much do you tip the guy. 5,10,20? do you tip the plumber, your doctor, the clerk at the check out line? it's his JOB to deliver the goods in a timely fashion and when promissed. if it's going to be late, their responsibilty is to inform YOU. YOU are the customer and THEY are the service provider. no doubt your phone # is on the bill of lading along with your address. by in large i'm very dissapointed in customer service these days. i got escorted out of mclendons (hardware store) by the security guard 2 weeks ago when i told 3 managers how poor their c.s was and how they could fix.

Thats so cool Rhody....
I aggree with you C.S. is gone these days. And its like nobody cares. I had a Hostess flip on my mother in law for asking a question the other night at a really nice resturant. HAHA she called the owner(family friend) and got her fired.
5 days for a stupid grommet to get from woodinville (about 50 miles away) to the store near me. "i could walk to woodinville and back and have one in less than 5 days". their 'computer' showed 25 in stock @ my store. they had 0. over 40 'in stock' @ the sumner store, drove down, 0. they had a long list of 'why things are they way they are'.
1. mclendon's is a 'mom and pop operation'. hardly.
2. unemployment is at a all time low in wa. it's hard to find drivers.
3. the person who enters the in or out of stock data is off today.
4. we don't know why.
5. more
6. more
7. more
"your store sems to be top heavy with managers who seem unable to rectify c.s. problems. perhaps you could jump in your co provided car, drive to woodinville, fetch one for me and the problem will be solved". "security to the customer non-service desk".
sorry for the hijack.
k
its cool
so, getting back on topic: got a call from the driver today says "hey jon, you'll have your car definetly tomorrow (sunday) between 10 and 12"
I dont trust these guys as far as I can throw him, but we'll see. I'll post pics tomorrow -JON
Only 915 here on the west side of the country. They still have a few hours to show.
...just spoke to Jon...it has reached it's destination...
Ok, It's after 12, where are the damn pictures? Did the driver make it? The tip goes down more and more as the minutes tick by.
It's almost 2:00 and still nothing? WTF?
I think ill keep u guys waiting for another 20 minutes or so (until all the pics get uploaded. It got here just as it left the sellers house
Finally!!!!
Looks nice.
I have those missing letters if you need them, I think they are NLA so it will be really expensive
Just kidding but I really do have those letters.
so lots of pics and little feedback
Damn, the freakin' East Coasters stole another rust free Kalifornia Kar. We're gonna have to raise the "export fees" to stop this madness.
Nice car ..... have fun
Now, IMMEDIATELY take it apart and convert it to a six!
..okay Jon....it's here...now get your driver's license and enjoy that thang'!
Congrats Jon, that's a fine looking car. Though two of those pictures jammed together made me worry for a second that somebody had cut and sectioned the front trunk...
Great looking teener. Have a blast with it.
will do, getting it registered/insured this week
Looks great! God, it looks almost exactly the same as my 914 in fact.
Have fun!
All the way from Cali sniffing the butt of a Ferarri, that ain't right...
Nice teener, take care of it and it will take care of you. Have fun...Be safe.
Looks good! You're gonna have some serious fun in that.
Here is a pic of the some of the letters I have on the bench here, I have about 4 more complete sets, this one seems to be missing the R. It's probably on the floor here in a pile of crap next to my bench, I need to do some cleaning soon.
Attached thumbnail(s)
Now the madness begins! I just love yellow 'teeners. Good luck!
My buddy had his Benz brought from Seattle to NYC; he insisted that it ride up front on the top of the trailer so stuff wouldn't fall on it from cars above and so it wouldn't be moved as much. It's several years later and I still don't think all of the bugs are scraped off the front of that thing! Better sniffing the Ferrari...
Paul
Nice Ride! We expect to see it next year at Hershey! I'd love to see some pics of the engine bay. Yours is the same color, year and engine as mine. I have some interior pieces you might be interested in (seats, armrest, backpad) if you don't mind tan instead of black.
Hey Scott, just sent you a PM.
Rick, i'll take some tonight.
