914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Need advice for brakes OT, Eric Shea? Anybody?

Need some help, a friend of mine has a custom kit car and wants to know if a type I VW and a 914 master cylinder are interchangeable? If so, could a 19 mm one be used? Also anyone have a preference on types or brands of proportionaing valve to use that is adjustable? Would like to change the bias to 70-30....

The MC is not sold as interchangable.

ok...let me elaborate so as not to be too obvious....
has anyone modified or used these combo's?? I know they are not sold as interchangable... but then half the things we see on this site are from adaptation or modification...I have a porsche with BMW calipers... dry.gif
Anyone have a better solution?

What brakes (calipers) will he be using?

Stock 914's Eric.... question is...will it hook up to a stock pedal set from a type I or will he need to go all out with ONeals?

If he is stuck with the type I pedals...I thin he can use a Type II MC...but do you know of a good valving system to get his 70/30?

Could he sandwich a 914 or 911 cluster in there? The T1 M/C will not work.
