914World.com _ 914World Garage _ look for Adjusting gear for internal pistons

Posted by: Frenchyves May 9 2007, 05:19 PM

Hello

First excuse my awful language, I am best in French...

for my 1975 2.0 L from california,

I look for an Adjusting gear for internal pistons for rear brakes (view photo)
I have only one... and I have 2 brakes !!! And it is not possible to find it here in France. And Porsche dealer can't help me if I have no number of this part...

Perhaps have you this little part in spare, so mail me.

You will be very sympatic

PM Eric Shea, I'll bet he can help you.

I can help... in the mean-time (does that translate?) -- as an alternative, you can use the one gear to adjust both calipers. They slip right out.

Let me know if you still want one.

Eric

Hello Eric,

Yes, I think too I can use one part to adjust the 2 brakes, but it's not very easy and not serious !

Have you this part in your stock? if you want sell me one, at good price mail me to yves.parent@9online.fr

Thanks for your help agree.gif

Its probably a great offer, but I dont think that you can dial a 1-800 number from France.
Best to put your normal number instead...

Just noticed the mis-matched parts:

Large inner adjuster
Smaller outer adjuster
Piston for large adjuster

Your 75 should have all large adjusters... wink.gif

Here's a link to the US parts catalog. You can probably find one in French, but my language skills won't allow for me to do it. It's under Porsche classic.

I have noticed this information.

Thanks.

Wonderful Matt,

It was not possible here to find this catalog.
Now my idiot Porsche storeman will be more. When I say "it's for a 914..." he is always surprise and never found the good part number.

But for this little gear, I confirm, it's not on the Porsche catalog !

Thanks again.

Yves
