How long do they generally last?

a while....

heat and age get to them.

if you need one... i picked up a spare. take it and replace it smile.gif

I have a spare, and the one in there is at least 2 years old, if not more.

great question. I'm still riding out the POs cable and who knows when that was probably awhile ago. Got a spare and tools in the cah....

I figure it's ok until it breaks... then it's life is up biggrin.gif

Check it for fraying @ the reversal wheel, and @ the firewall. If it's in good shape, and not acting up, run it.
