ECC will take place Sept 15th in Frederick MD.
http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/rleonardccemtp@hotmail.com/ECC2007
The evite is to help us identify how many people will be there, so we can get all the food and drinks and chairs needed. Sign up and let us know.
Matt has said that setting up a blanket to sell parts on is OK. But, he asks that the amount of parts that you bring to sell be able to fit in a 914. IE, don't load up your f-250 with parts to sell. Matt does not want his back yard to turn into the Hershey Swap Meet.
The event will be held at Plas76targa's home.
The address is:
7188 Meadowbrooke Drive
Frederick, MD 21702
You can show up as early as noon.
There is a pool, bring a suit and towel.
There will be a drive with Photo-ops at 4.
There will be crash space for those who can't safely drive home afterwards.
Matt has suggested that any of you "planning" to not be able to drive home safely, to bring a tent, as floor space may be limited. Camp out on the back 50!
Zach
There is a good idea!!!
Do you have access to a place for an all day BBQ? possibly camping also??
Rich
Yay! Zach is volunteering! If it were in GA it would be the south
Block Island or Newport !!!!!!!!!!!
I would have to ask my wife about it, but I might have the space to host, either at my place in York PA, or at Potapsco State Park in Baltimore MD.
Having it in Altlanta would be awesome, but I doubt we would be able to draw many of the Northerners. The same goes for having up North for the southern folks. Northern VA to Southern PA is about equidistant to everyone, and we have a fairly large owner comunity.
I sent an email to Kerry off the boards to sound out his feelings on ECC 2007. I'll see if he gets back to me, and will report in on what his interest level is.
Zach
I was thinking of offering our new place. before you all get excited let me run it by The One Who Rules. What time frame did we hold this last year?
I have a contact just south of VA Beach, near the North Carolina Border. It's 6 hours from Eastern PA and about 7 from Atlanta.
Or....Zach and Matt, we could hook up and try to nail down Patapsco.
Let me know,
Rick
What type of facilities are required for this event?
I am in ....if its near the fall I may even have my girl on the road....campout sounds fun!!
I chatted with Kerry. He is fallout from the December Divorce, but is will to help however he can to get ECC2007 back on track. I will volenteer to help plan it, but I am going to be buried in school work most of the time, so I won't be able to take charge. My MBA, plus sitting for my PMP in august plus work is going to have me it to be tied.
ECC will draw about 30 - 50 914s and assorted other vehicles if it is held in the Mid-Atlantic. I think it is the Mckeldon Shelter at Patapsco Park can hold near 200 cars, has spaces for grilling, open grass, some volleyball courts and a large pavilion shelter. No camping, though - and we would need to clean up before we left. There is a fee to use it, $200 if memory serves. If people are interested, I will look into it further.
At my place in York, we can put 50 914s in so long as the owners don't mind parking on the lawn. I have yet to clear with my wife, so it is NOT a definate location - yet at least.
So, cliffs notes:
1)Kerry will help, but will not lead
2)I will help, but will not lead
3)Someone need to step up to lead
4)Possible Locations in PA, RI, MD, VA and GA. Best locations will be in the Central PA - northern VA area.
I will be out in the woods all weekend, and will check back in on monday.
Lets make this HAPPEN!
Zach
Camp out? Me likes
I says we all commandeer Zach's place whether he likes it or not. The hell with any rules. We aren't 911 weenies, we don need to get no womens approval. Take back yer manhoods and stand up ! Stand up against the tyranny of the vageen. Stand up for what is right and just in the world. Be men. Be leaders. Be firm in your stance, put your foot down and say "NAY women Ye shall bide by MY rules now! Your days of rule are gone and my brethren WILL be here and you WILL NOT cause any disturbances, nor shall ye hold me by the sack afterwards, for I am MAN and I know what is best for you and I. Now GO women, GO and make me some pancakes. Be ye prepared to make MANY pancakes for there WILL be an onslaught of my compatriats on our lawn. Make pancakes, and cool beer NOW woman, and perhaps....just perhaps I will satisfy your carnal desires tonight.....if I feel like it." and so it is and so it shall be
Yes I am single..........
I tried bud. I said, "To the upper chamber with yee wench!" All I got was, weeeeeell, a long sorry self inflicted hand shake
I like Patapsco as it is in back of my house...
There are parts of Patapsco that do allow camping. i think the Hilton area.
I can help, but have no time...as you can see, my car is still off the road...
I'll start calling around.
I'll lead, provided I can get a fair amount of support.
Please PM me with your contact info (phone and reliable email) if you can help out. Also, I need to get hold of Kerry....I'd rather not re-invent the wheel.
Let's get it on!
I hope I can make it. Good on ya guys for taking charge!
Count me in
Mike
Cool, Thanx Mike! PM me with your contact info, please.
Yea another cookout!!! If in MD, Pa (york), or VA I am game. Can't offer alot but may be able to help.
Evan
Is there a firm date and place, I came to Kerry's 1st. one in Va. ,also the one in Kennet Sq. so will make every effort to be there. Keep me posted. Dave
Well, my house is out. Erin reminded me that she and I will both be in classes in September, and that she will all ready be a stress ball about that (this will be her first grad class).
Zach
I should be able to make that date, good time to test-run the car before driving it 4 hours each way for my wedding 2 weeks later.
for those unable to attend the past 2 or has it been 3 ecc's - there were about 15-20 914 in attendance - cool : )
count me in regardless of location - i have two road worthy 914 to choose from as of this momment : )
jim
Dammit, it is going to be the same weekend as this again this year:
http://www.allaircooledgathering.com/
Crap.
It is an all aircooled gathering (obviously), there is plenty of space for another 30-50 cars, there is camping the night before and is at a great venue (old german-american resort). Plus it is already being run by the central jersey VW society (no leaders needed). Unfortunately in Northern NJ it is a bit farther than the previous ECCs, but only 1.5 hours further than the one Kerry hosted at his house in PA.
Any interest in making it the "ECC" at least for this year? It would be cool to see a bunch of 914s on that lawn this year.
-Chris
There is a planning thread?
Caroline (last year's hostess) was after me to volunteer my place near I-81 and I-70 in Western Maryland. Although I have plenty of space to park cars, I have only one bathroom. Not sure how that would have worked out.
Just a note hat the location has been selected.
The ECC 2007 will happen this year in Frederick MD.
We will continue to update this thread as more details unfold.
Zach
Hey guys,
Let me know if I can help.
Boo-ya! Bring the beer bong! Matt, you have no idea what you just agreed to
Frederick 09/15/07? I will mark it down & barring the unforseen, will be there.
Will it be 9/15? Or is the date still up in the air?
Sept 15th has been confirmed.
Zach
I'll be doing my primary care clerkship in South Central PA at that time so I should be able to make it. (No on call probably)
sounds interesting...or the all air cooled gathering...hmmm
That's terrific that a site has been chosen in Maryland this time... I was gettin' ready to belly up my place again (the other half may be out of town, so why not? Heh heh heh...) BUT, the new site sounds great. And, for what it's worth, hosting the event is a piece of cake, this is one truly great and truly gracious group of 914 owners!
Now, if Ace Mechanic can just get Babydoll runnin' right... she's got major TPS switch problems which turn her into a slow runnin' buckin' bronko. Once that's conquered, I'll/we'll be there for sure! Let me know if I can help in any way...
Caroline
Okay, the first post has been updated with the address of the event!
Here it is again for those that feel the more the merrier:
7188 Meadowbrooke Drive
Frederick, MD 21702
MATT, YOU ROCK!
Looks like we could be getting a keg of something yummy as well.
The good Dr. Evil has agreed to make a donation of something or other to the event. I need to start pestering the other member-vendors to see if they would be so kind.
I'd like to be able to offer shirts as cool as the ones that were set up for the Atomic Ramble, but I fear that the compressed time schedule won't have them ready to be sold in time.
I have a fella who can get them done in time for us, provided we get him a design. He's a fellow firefighter and has offered to make them for cost!
I've emailed Kerry with several questions, one of which is about logos. We'll work from there.
if any of the NJ guys are going, id love to catch a ride with one of you in your driving 914 and split the gas
Hey Rick,
What quality are the shirts going to be? What printing technique is he using? I only ask because I am gathering contacts to see who has the best cost and quality when I get the EvilWerks shirts done.
what time do we expect that the festivus will be starting? I know the ending will be dependant on the amount of keggage provided
Looks like the location of party is about 7 or so hours from me
Mike
Hmmm...
For those who are visiting from out of town,
We could most likely find bed and floor space around my house...you will all have to share a bathroom with my kids...other than that, I have room for some.....
DAMN now the pressure is REALLY on...I gotta finish my ride....Crash you have a scissor lift I can borrow?
I may actually take mine! I got it running, and smoking Its possible!
Pencil me in. Hopefully with good weather I'll bring the 914. For accomodations, I'll just continue south on 15 to Leesburg to visit my brother and maybe catch a round of golf on Sunday.
Spoke
"Projects" permitting I'll bring the six. It's faster, attracts less visual attention & the LE is currently taking a year long bath so she can look pretty in Charolette next year . Seriously, I spent 6 hours, an entire roll of paper towels & 1/2 a bottle of fantastic on the engine compartment alone last week .
Well, I will be coming in my trusty Subaru, or maybe the Prius is Erin wants to come as well. In my dreams my car would be ready by September, but there just ain't no way.
but I did just spray the final coat of sandable primer on it. If I can sand the bitch over the weekend, I might just be able to make it green on July 4 and 5!
Then I would at least be able to start putting it all back together.
Zach
hmmmmm..... fred-neck?
well absent anything presenting an issue.... put me down as an attendee.
may or may not have mine back on the road... need to chase an oil leak, exhaust leak and change out the clutch but all that has been side tracked with finishing the basement. so may end up driving the scoob.
besides, it might not be so damn humid round that time!!!!
cheers....
scott
Josh, no lift...just jacks and muscle....if it is for the engine lift, check out Harbor freight in Laurel...they had some interesting lift tables. ( I guess they could lift the car if you used 2 of them.....
O.K. , Who locally can be in charge of getting a Keg of that brown foamy stuff
They must be a highly respecded pillar of the comunity, Oh I forgot we all are.
Driving my 914 from N.W. Ohio doesn't bode well to bring a keg.
So If someone will take the responsibility of aquiring it,and making sure it is
there at the correct time and Temp. I'll buy it as my donation, I have know idea
as to price in that area. Sam Adams maybe????? And What size????? the
person who takes charge of that ,let me know the price and i will send a check or pay pal.
If Sam Adams isn't ok,then pick your favorite. Dave
P.S.
Also I need the name ans address of a ok motel close to the site, nothing fancy
just a place to sleep . Dave
Wow Dave, that's really generous! Sam Adams rocks, or we also have fine Maryland and Pennsyltucky beers readily available too... Clipper City, Flying Dog (they recently bought the Frederick brewery), Appalachian Brewing, Troegs, Stoudts, Victory, oh yeah, I sample them all when I get the chance.
I'm the guy who started the whole keg tangent. I'm planning on brewing a batch specifically for the cookout... my kegs are only 5 gallons since I use Corny kegs (which used to be used for Coca-Cola before they switched to the aseptic bag system). Anyway, the current plan is to do a hoppy IPA and dry hop it in the keg for more of that hop aroma. I love the hops... they way they smell, the flavor they impart to my beers, the way they have sticky buds with crystals that look just like... well, you get the picture.
We actually have a sizeable front lawn. You long distance folks could camp out overnight if you'd like. And there's carpeted floorspace in the basement too.
A Hampton Inn is 2 miles away as well.
Barber Dave - Frederick has some nice "Local Brew's" - I could look into them to find some suitable "suds".
also see my offer above too....we will find space for everyone...
Things are really starting to come together! Make time to come out and play!
Kerry, I need the cookout smiley!

I may actually take mine! I got it running, and smoking Its possible!
Congrats holmes I saw the other thread, now take that mother out in the street and blow it out REALLY good Remember....fresh fuel keeps you from looking like a fool
I need to find out why it is smoking so bad...I'll post on my thread so as not to pollute this one
I hope ya'll can make it (I should be there!)
Did ya change your oil. From all that cranking, it might be a little light.
Mid September in "Fredneck " is the best time of year to be there. I hope the weather is perfect cause I'm looking forward to the drive- 211E to 15N & no highways. I'd be going nuts if I did'nt have the six to play with since I've been getting the LE ready for Charolette next year. The six may be a pig but the Civic, DD, has no umph & long rides in the six are .
So is anyone planning anything for the 14th (night) or the 16th for any who stay all weekend?? I haven't decided on 1 or 2 nights but if funds and opportunities permit I may stay through Sunday
If we arhe goin ta teeke full pleasure of this gooooldin necktr, we must hava plaaace ta stee for reeecup-horashion fooor a loud 914 drife beck hoom tha neext deeee. I foor whone plan ta be a Fusched up individooal that deee if at all possible.
anybody heard from Kerry?
I sent him an email back in June, which he responded to. I don't think he checks here at all. I am not even sure if he has his 914, he was talking about selling it last year.
Zach
I got a reply from my email last week. He was to put together all his info from last year and send it to me. I've not heard from him since. I'll shoot another email reminder to him tonight and see what's up.
Matt, can you contact that hotel near you and see if they're willing to cough up a good group rate for 10 or more rooms? If they need more "persuading" let me know.
I've got a source lined up for T-shirts, we can do heat transfer or embroidery. I'm trying to wait for Kerry, but we may need to create our own logo. Any graphic artists out there?
.....movin' right along!
???? -JON
AS IT IS WRITTEN, SO SHALL IT BE DONE
DAVE
How's about a tailgate swap meet if anyone has any extra parts to unload.
I kow that I have a part or two that I would be willing to tote down.
Zach

This is the IPA that I spoke of earlier. I made it last night and it's bubbling merrily away.
It will be clear and dry-hopped by September.
Bring it on!!!!
What will be the alcohol %age in this brrrrew mister?
I have some great news! My family medicine rotation was changed from being in the boonies 4 hours away to being right here in Harrisburg! "So fuching what?" you say? This means that I can spend some quality time with my car and MIGHT just get it up for the ECC. Ehehe.....
yea rock on we got a Dr on board! think with that batch from the vat we may need him..
evan
Be advised I'm a Lesbian & I'm into group Lesbian sex.

Vashizel homeskitdizel.
Think of it as a feminine flavour savour Zimjuzel. Ya, thats a little to aaahhhh.................graphic.
So.
The ECC is going to have beer.
Home made beer.
Mmmmmm beer.
Lets all retain our focus.
Zach
At least before the vent!
The more I gets fusched up, the better it tastes according to my past experiences.
More official ECC info!
There is going to be an evite posted here and at all the other 914 boards we can think of. If you are going to come, please let us know via the evite so we can count heads, and make sure we have enough food and booze to feed you mongrels.
Teeners are welcome to start showing up to Matts place @ NOON.
Matt has a pool. Bring a suit.
No skinny dipping (JPB I am looking at you here )
At 4 there will be a teener drive, with several photo ops along the way.
Matt has crash space for all teeners who 1)refuse to go home or 2)are way to ****ed up to go home.
And here is a word from our host on address and directions:
Thong on my feet and thong on my ars my brother and hope the food stays down when I cut loose!
JP, your posts are almost as entertaining as they are confuseing.
Nothing but mixed messages here bro form a mixed message kinda guy. Like I use to say to one of my employers who was tickeled pink for all the money I made him,"by golly, if nothing else, I'm entertaining!" There is nothing more entertaining than to see someone who laughs at every strupid thing one says just because they see dollar signs everytime you walk by. He even laughed when I asked him if it was okay for me to leave if I could doubly my salary. Needless to say, he didn't laugh anymore when I left the day he said I could leave which was the following Wednesday. Hell, he even made the date, "How about next Wednesday hahahah," while laughing.
AAAaaah yes, the Ex-Lax effect. I have much to learn from you.
Maybe this year I'll make a drunken ass of myself
Have people seen the Evite for the ECC?
So far IO think only myself and one other person have signed it. it is how we are tracking heads to make sure we have enough food, etc.
Zach
Zach,
Where's the evite? I'll sign it.
Spoke
http://www.evite.com/app/publicUrl/rleonardccemtp@hotmail.com/ECC2007
I also have it linked in post 1 of this topic. I am also about to put it in my footer.
Please take 30 seconds to sign in to the evite. it will help us a lot to get head counts and such.
Zach
I'm in. Thanks!
Zach - he he, I signed in.
Please edit page one concerning sack out space - bring a tent, we have plenty of room for that. Limited floor space inside.
still haven't heard back from the Hampton Inn which is the closest hotel. I'll call them again.
Spoke - glad your coming down. i've been reading your progress thread.
Any recommended (or advise against) hotels to stay in?? I may be coming up Fri night and staying until Sunday. Haven't decided yet
i may be fuched as work is having me go to a conference on sunday in chicago.... i would love to show up but don't know if i can get the logistics of a flight to MD/PA from MA and then a flight out to IL arranged..... then the transport in/about MD/PA is a whole 'nuther oprah.....
gotta work on it!!!!!
I can pick you up in PHL on the way down on sat morning, but I'll be leaving sometime sat during the afternoon/evening. On the way back I'll be passing PHL and a short distance from EWR at my final destination, no problems dropping you off at either.
-Chris
bwi
We could pick you up at bwi, flights to manchester or providence...swa...
I will be leaving Fri.9:00 A.M. will travel Ohio turnpike to Penn.turnpike to Breezwood, then I-70 to US - 40 to and so to Fredrick. Arrive 4:00 ,4:30 range
i ,ll be staying at the Hampton, not the Beckley ( ask the host why) .
Anyone want to meet up along the way,or meet for dinner and suds and talk
just let me know. Dave
Matt: Have you got a group rate at the Hampton????
i think i signed up but is there any way to get confirmation that you know i (or others) will attend? if i could help make a list, send out confirmations, i'd be glad to
I should be able to send out reminders/updates by the guest list on Evite. I'll give it a shot today. If you don't receive anything, let me know.
I'm off to work on the car...
OK!
An email should've juAst gone out via Evite. If you get one, your on the list. If not, go back up and try again, or post your name and email address here and I'll put you up.l
So far, we have RSVP's for 32 people and as many as 18 cars!
Also, the design for the T-shirts is done. Shall I post pics or leave it a surprise?
I signed up and didnt get an email If that is the way you are gonna be then I wont go
Oh ya, anyone who wants their shirts delivered at the ECC (the EvilWerks shirts) and hasnt done so already, please let me know so I dont ship it to you.
I got a reply.
Zach
I signed up and got no E-mail Oh and Mike bring my damn shirts !!
mike95125@yahoo.com
bugger130@midspring.com
You are both on the invite list and these are the email addresses listed. Scott, I'm guessing yours should be mindspring instead of mid.
Mike, is your address correct?
I'm an instant gratification kind of guy....I want my shirts now!
If I'm not on the damn list, I will crash it like a drunk ass on his sister's wedding night! Crap, I'm alreadu fuschecd up!
I got fusched up at Dr.Evil's place a while ago, We had a good time. I coulden't stay awake but the Evil Doc took care of my sorry state and i woke up in a bed the next day. Now thats true brotherly love there brothers! Okay, I'm to fusched up to type agin! Wheres that dang old 914 chic ? i needs me a good 914 chic to keep me straight dangnambit! Whers ashe at? Holly crap, that sounds so freekin sad
Scott, I will bring them and your ass-less chaps
JPB, I am not supposed to have any shirts left....that ship may have sailed so your man titties will have to swing free int he breeze until I make another run of shirts. I can tell you are buzzed because your typing is showing more linear thought
Rick, good deal, I'll add your name to the shipping list. I hope that they are done by then No word today and next week I aint going to exist in this dimension (test on Fri).
Still no email, and yes that address is correct. I had trouble getting an evite from Zach a few weeks back. Maybe its going to my spam, could you try again so I can see?
914chic = one of the ones you are typing with
So it seems there are a few ( at least 2) of us who plan on getting obliterated on Sat. night. Who all is staying overnight? We need to make some plans
Noel and I are staying. I'll bring some guitars We should see if Matt will let you bring your drums We can test Matt's marriage! Kathrine loves me, though
Man, this is gonna be awesome!
Where are you guys staying? At Matts or a hotel
Matt's...I aint gots no $$. You should camp out there so you dont have to drive. I have an extra tent
Matt is probably already regretting this
wow! this could prove interesting...
Linear speech and talking "in the box" is so over rated. Like I say to many, no pride implied here, I understand you, all your dialects, even those you make repeat their sentences over and over again and this isn't even my freekin language! Damn Engs, their words and thier world domination.
All is fare in love and war as long as one is not worried about getting an STD or shot at every now and then.
All this talk about pitching tents.. this post might be out of place, but Scotty B asked about hotels.. Here are the numbers to the three closest -
Hampton Inn, 2.2 miles ph 301-696-1565
Holiday Inn, 5 miles, ph 301-662-5141
Comfort Inn, 5 miles, ph 301-662-0281
Who mentioned drums? My son William has a starter set he might lend you- but you'll have to ask him nicely!
I'm not too concerned about the marraige test, Mike.. but I am starting to feel concern for my "new" neighbors..
BTW - we put the vomit comit to gether last week - only one drunken fool is allowed on the trampoline at any one time!
PM me if any one needs directions.
Wow, this is really stacking up nicely!
I have an extra tent I can bring.
Doc, I'll re-try that email thing individually; see if we can't dodge the spam filter.
Speaking of T's (or tease, for this group) , the decal for the back is done. We are working on sprucing up the logo provided by Jonathan for the front.
Here's the back:
Wow, hey Rich wonder if that could be stamped onto some paper or those thicker pick nic plates (real plates would be really awesome). out of time for that I suppose,, and I have no clue where either
BTW - we have at least two tents we can offer -- for those who don't have trunk space
I signed up and got a reply back. Please call the 914 gods an reserve cool weather!!!
yea, if its raining I ain't coming.....
good weather only allowed..
The weather dictates whether I go to the SCCA Watkins Glen race or the ECC.
I got a two person tent if anyone needs an extra, not planning to camp at Matt's as my 914 chic wants me home, sometimes. Hey Matt, don't worry about the new neighbors, gotta break em in the right way!!! Should we park in grass or what? Anything I can bring let me know.
evan
If you are worried about your neighbors, I wont wear a thong in your pool.....I'll just go nekkid
DE, me in a thong and you bare assed I believe will offend even the most bardash of dudes. Now that would be deeeeeeesturbing but paleolithically entertaining none the less! The beer made me do it!
Matt if'n your cool with it I'll just camp out I'd rather save the loot and not have to drive And you say you have a trampoline eh Alcohol.....testoterone......guitars and drums setup........all we need is some nekkid womenz jumpin on da tramp........oline Oh my God Jon has invaded my mind
Awsome!
Here is a teaser (dancing banana)
"Black and HUGE, black and HUGE all the women hate me in the porno booth....."
I love it when plan comes together
Attached image(s)
Boogada Boogada! I will compensate for my regular sized male apendages and make a paper mashay one.
For safety concerns, I think that thongs should be mandatory on the trampoline. I dont know about you guys, but if I jumped on the trampoline nekkid I would quickly get all tangled up in my junk, if you know what I mean.
Ricks a perve (voyeur)
I'll be coming in the 914 if no rain and the A6 if raining. I just can't envision a cruise on 309/22/78/81/83/15 being any fun in the rain in a 914.
In the evening I'll be moving on to my brother's place in Leesburg, VA. This way my 914 will be able to hang out in a garage on Sat night. Plus getting in a round of golf on Sunday before heading home.
Spoke
I just made reservations at the Holiday Inn for Fri. and Sat night. I can,t do the camping thing. My old bones don't take to well to that any more. Maybe if i get in
early enough I,ll mosey over to the hosts house and add to the confusion. Starting to get pumped up, need to get a few cosmetic things done and install new ( to me ) exhaust system. I don't relish the idea of driveing 450 miles,in the 914 one way, with a hole the size of a credit card in the muffler. See you all there Dave
Dave - stop over Friday night after you get settled. Holiday Inn is at intersection of old rt 40 and 15 N. PM me if you want detailed directions. I assume you'll be coming in on Rte 70 East from Ohio/Pittsburg direction.
I am in NJ till the 12th.
I will have been here two months and I have seen no one
What's the plan on the food? Do we need to pitch in or bring stuff?
And... I need a driver's side fender, headlight bucket. Anybody have one they want to get off their hands?
Mike
Matt:
Thanks I have directions fom the Holiday Inn to your place ,via map quest .
i could use your cell # ,or home phone # just in case. PM me with that please. BTW what is the statis on the beer? Dave
All- Let's start posting what stuff is needed to bring and who is bringing it...

Anybody still sell those nice stainless lines?
Rick, call Chris at Tangerine racing....ship them down and lets put them in...
I did mine with 3/8 brake lines....
That'll get ya some brownie points
Speaking of angels...anybody ever hear from Jenny? I haven't heard from her since the club calendar.
It's all good, clean, flirty fun. Certainly only compliments to their lucky fellas!

I ordered the shirts today, they assure me they'll be finished by Thursday the 13th! the art is a little flatter than what I posted, otherwise it came to 8-9 colors for the back panel and about $18/shirt. As it sits, we're at about $11.50/shirt.
Let's get it on!
Planners: Check the planning thread for a new post, please.
I wish.
I did put the doors back on it tonight. Wanted to get the panels on before I did the final paint incase I dinged it (which I did). All the panels are on the car now.
Course, the one of my indoor only cats got out, and ran up a really dense pine tree. I am cut up head to toe trying to climb after the damn cat at midnight.
Of well
Zach
I agree, you should have just built a fire under the tree to keep them warm and just gone back to bed
ya want to sand a car? got you covered.. we can get everyone to work on mine.. we can even paint it!
I'm in! I haven't a clue.....but I'm in!
Back to the top with you, Thread! We want more people and cars to come to our event. Work, Thread, work. Or it's the lash, again.
One week out Anyone want to start making plans on meeting up and having a caravan?? I'll be leaving (trying to) Richmond around 6:00 a.m. I think D.C. is about 2-2.5 hours. Maybe a breakfast meet at Eudoras I think it's called ??
Jon when are you leaving and will you be anywhere within my path before D.C.? I want to make certain I'm clear out of your way
Ya Jon, get the hell out of our way ya bastage of the worst kind! I will be glad to tow anyone who can't make it to the vent, even those in a , how should I say Vulva. ZING!
Unfortunately the truck since the teener needs to keep them ever so precious miles for something crazy from that carzy 2366. Limited mile for limited fun until the next build$$$$$. If you wanna caravan, that would be very cool. Bringing some drums? How many?
Hey Kelly! Is that 'Rattle Can Chevy Orange' ?
Attached image(s)
Root, are you coming?
I'll be coming up from Charlotte to my father's house in Richmond on Friday.... then leaving from Richmond on Saturday morning. My teener is cut open and getting prepped for major surgery, so I'll be in my expedition.
If there is a meeting point around Richmond way, let me know.

I'd like to exchange cell phone numbers with a few members just in case. Especially anyone coming south on 15. PM me if you to exchange numbers.

Mike we could certainly make one !! IIRC your dad is on the southside right? I remember you knowing my area fairly well. Either way I'll be heading out 288 to 95 N. Let me know what you want to do. I also need to call JPB and see what he is planning on doing.
Hey I checked out "blackie" today I think she's ready for ECC
Been lurkin' on this post! Matt this sounds like it'll be a good one! Thanks for hosting.
I'll be bringing some food and my wife or one of my sons .
Has anyone seen the weather forcast? Okay its a little far away for them forskiners but they don't seem to be saying anything nice. Do we have a wet day plan?
Scotty... my father's house is in the west end.... near 295 and 64. IIRC you are coming from out powhattan way.... you could come 288 north to 64... then we could hook up somewhere around 288/64/295 (short pump area)..... zip out 295 and catch 95 north of town.
Thoughts, comments, testimonials?
-Mike

Any caravans from the Eastern PA/NJ area?
I'm in Philly so I'll probably be taking 95 down, anyone else going that way?
Hmm, you present an interesting point. My 914 will be keeping my jackstands busy, but I'll either be coming down in my Beetle or (gasp) Miata. Either one is more fun on backroads. Taking my time driving down there seems like a good idea, I'd be willing to meet up somewhere . . .
-Chris
No big deal, it was more of an open comment to anyone heading down that way from up this way.
I'm leaving from the PA/DE border on 95 south Sat a.m.
I was going to spin north from Towson? Rand McNally quotes me a 2.5 hr drive...
I may have my son follow in his VW for backup/support.
If it is a hard core rain, I may just drive the old 320....
Gettin' excited!
I've got a short drive to Frederick from Fairfax, VA... but I'd like to hookup
with some locals and go caravan style..... who's up for it?
TYPE47 r u out there?
Anybody else interested?

Your ECC Brew Report...
I tapped the 5 gallon keg of Jackstand Pale Ale last night. Y'see, I have to do some quality checking to make absolutely sure that it's fit to drink.
It's pale, a bit cloudy, probably more balanced towards the maltiness rather than the hoppiness, but very quaffable. I'm going to crank up the CO2 a bit so it should be nice and fizzy by Saturday.
Fear not... I have 2 other kegs connected to the stainless faucets in my kegerator. This pale ale is connected to a party tap so I actually have to open the refrigerator door to pour a beer. I'm lazy so I just drink from the taps that go through the door.
Just a plug to let folks know, I have listed some parts for sale that i will deliver for free to ECC (in the Classified Section).

Great to hear it--thanks to Jim McL who alerted me-- we need other ways to spread the word--I would have missed it otherwise. HOW LATE in the day does it run??- couldn't find that anywhere?
Also: did anyone figure out how to get the evite directions (very good ones) to print -I couldn't even copy to my wordpad!?
Unfortunately for all of you other attendees, I will be coming solo on this trip after all. My much better half won't be coming with me. She is in the middle of packing up her house to move into a new place and her daughter has a soccer game that day, too. Now I just need to get out of a semi-obligation Saturday morning so I can leave early with Jim Kelly.
Matt,
Is there a list of food/drink to bring? If nothing in particular is needed, I (yeah right, er, my wife) can make a taco dip but it would need to be microwaved if your wife will let us in the house.
Looks like it's still 914 weather.

How about sticking it up on Dorkiphus-- my usual check-it-out for area drives and social events. Be sure to tell them that its a 914 event, mostly, or you'll get party-911 guys and '44s, etc.
vacca - where besides 914club and 914world - did you advertise this ??
i would say these two are enough as we all know each other well enough.

Wow. This is going to be a VERY intersting weekend. "honey hide the beakables....F- that get the breakables WAAAAYYYYY away" Matt get that damn trampoline out of the yard too"
oh yea, party time....
And my kid just got a new guitar.....Music anyone???
So, do I pack a tranny in my trunk, or my 2x12 crate amp?
Attention ECC Planners/Organizers....
What's the current estimated head count for ECC07?
How many Guitars?
How many Amps?
How many Drum Sets?
How many Cow Bells?
How many Kegs?
How many Tents?
Oh I almost forgot... How many 914's?
Head count so far is 54!
A car count is difficult....between posts here and on the evite....at least 14 914's, 2 beetles and at least one 911.
I know someone who has a 20' x 40' foot canopy that I'm trying to borrow. He was out of town until this evening so I'll catch him tomorrow.
Guitars? Many are threatening....all are welcome. Amps? ! Watch the neighbors run for the hills!
2 Kegs, one from a commercial brewery and one homebrew - "Jackstand IPA"
I've got dibs on the tramp....oline!
cow bell - i gotta have more cow bell !!!!

You have 2 trunks dingus
Hey Bondo-floozy,
The rear trunk will not fit either Noel has soo much faith in my mekanikal abilities that she is opting to follow (try) in the VUE so the cargo problem is solved.
So let me see if I understand this. You're saying that just Noel thinks you could use a trailer car (loaded with party stuff, parts, and mostly tools). But you believe a trailer car ain't needed.
Man!.... I don't know how good yer kanicle skills are, ('cept I did see your tool bag once when you flashed it while working on a tranny!
I'd never turn down a trailer car dude! Especially one with a babe drivin' it!
ECC folks: I'll have a few items for sale-- esp. a muffler. A "glasspack" (as described by the former owner, who works at the local Midas Muffler), it's almost new. He used it at Summit Point a bit-- on a 2.0 with carbs. After I bought the car from him, it seemed way too loud for my street, so I got a Bursche, which is only a little too loud. This unit has dual muffler cans, with four chromed tips. Most of the paint is still there. Places that were hot long enough to disturb the paint have a little surface rust-- nothing more. Just hand wire-brush it off. I'd like $165 for it. If you have a track car and want easier breathing, this is the one to put on.
If you want to 'reserve' first refusal, pm me before the ECC. I'll have it in the trunk regardless, since I'll never use it on either of my cars. -Chris Hager in Falls Church, vA

See you all tomorrow!
As of right now, Mike from N.C. and I will be meeting in Richmond around 8-ish and then meeting Jon (JPB) around Massaponix. If anyone else wants to join our rag tag group chime in
I believe I'm meeting up w/ Type 47 & Root around 11 @ Point of Rocks
por - north of leesburg va via rt 15 - just over bridge in md.
probably no value in trying to meet up there - as it is only minutes from matts shin dig.

I'll be headed down I-95 from Philly, and up 70.
I'll have a support vehicle following, and keeping an eye out for any that may need help....
We have one more warm body showing up, Mark Thompson from Winchester. You all's goal is to pervert him onto the 914 mentality; specially you Jim V8 Kelly! Don't let me down now. When we test drove Bill Smith's yellow 914, "The Beater", Mark said, " I have to get me one a thems!" He is almost there so do me proud all a yall by dangslambit!. Just for the record, he coulden't keep up with the Beater last time we raced even with alla his tire squeelin and stuff..

he still has not put a decent 4 into 1 header on that thing - as per Raby.
i hate to brag - but i probably get worse fuel mileage than most of you guys : )
Jim
any count on how many 914 we will be seeing tomorrow ??????
--
DAMNIT! This damn car is breaking my heart I have adjusted the valves, changed the plugs and wires, checked and rechecked the timing and it falls on its face at 4.1K. I checked the fuel adjustment and it doesnt fix it......I dont know what the hell is wrong with it. A more learned person thinks that the CIS may be defective still......sonofabitch! I will have to keep my self busy fixing other peoples cars and getting sauced
i know you have some carbs as a back up solution BUT would changing over to carbs require you to change cams too?
you have nothing to be ashamed about - you have given getting it to ecc an honorable effort!

ok.... I just made it to Richmond. It rained like a mofo the whole time up from Charlotte. Hope this crap moves on out. We sure need the rain back home, but it's a royal pain to drive in. Saw at least half a dozen accidents on the way up... 1 jackknife'd semi and a roll over. Not good.
Scott, I'll meet you at Short Pump Town Center.... let's say in front of the Circuit City at say 8:00... I'll be driving the Black '07 Expedition EL.
You've got my cell number, so call as needed.
-Mike
Man that sucks that Dave cant make it
I decided that I am going to ride my R90 down as I need something that is fun to ride/drive for the 4pm run. Noel is still gonna chase me in the VUE.
Jim, I have to rebuild the carbs I have and then would need to get a different fuel pump. I may do that, but I have another whole CIS system to frustrate myself with first.
it is 7:30am in south delware - roads are wet but it is not raining.
I am not gonna be on the road until 10:30 - eta at matt's 1:30pm.
jim
hey matt - if your wife just got her hair cut yesterday or will be wearing a new dress today - give us the heads up so we can lay down some compliments : )
According to Intellicast's regional loop, most of the precipitation has moved off toward the Delmarva and NJ. The sidewalk and street at my house are both 80 percent dry and I expect that when the sun rises high enough, all the roads will be dry and ready for driving.
this is going to be so much fun!
The precip is walking up the coast. Just rained like hell here, but is drying. Looks like little cells of intense rain with wind. Local forcast here is rain until noon the sunny. I probably won't leave until 11-12 which puts me at the ECC about 2pm.
Spoke
The SUN keeps popping out here in Fairfax! It's looking good!
Evil sorry 'bout your car, I really wanted to see it! We're bringing you a surprize to make you feel better though. Here's a hint >
Nature just washed the roads for us I gotta get my bike out so I can ride it there. Ray is on his way over. I am packing most of my music equipment. I have all the black shirts packed up
I'm leaving the 12 string and my Les Paul here. The VUE is packed! 1 ax, 1 nylon ax/electric, 1 electric, 2x12 crate amp, bag of trix, badminton set, sleeping bags and tent and pillow.
it is getting darker here in DE but the NoVA traffic cams show nice dry roads.
per weather.com - one last cluster is crossing over now - should be gone soon.
departure - 44 mins and counting down : )
jim
Sunny as can be here at 10am. Good thought Jim, Matt will need a lot of help to keep him from sleeping outside. all compliments to the wife. Still feel sorry for the neighbors, they don't know whats coming.
All sunny here now. 914 is ready to rock and roll.
I'm waiting for Evil, Noel, and Ray. Then we will head out. Probably will get there around 1.
It is sunny as can be where I am right now.
zach
Well, everyone is here, but Mike is doing triage on Rays tranny in my driveway. Hopefully, we will be on the road soon.
Zach
What a freak'n great event I wish I could have stayed longer, but my wife is pregnant, and that pretty much trumps everything. So when she said it was time to go, it was time to go.
I can tell it was a great event though. We were there for 7 hours, and when we left it seemed like I had just got there. It started when Mike, Noel, Ray and his son all showed up at my place around 11:30. Immediatly Mike was going for tools to adjust Ray's shifter. We all caravaned down, me leading in the Subaru, Mike on the BMW /6, Noel and Erin in the Vue, and Ray and is son in the 914. We had ~50 people show, and about 15 914s, 2 912Es, 1 944, 1 T4 converted superbeetle, and 1 kicks ass sandrail (which I still want a ride in!). The party was still going strong at 8 when we kicked out.
So: some pics from the event! I did not get any of the group pics. I hope someone will post them, as I would like to see them.
The driveway:
This thing was awesome!
This car was cool. It had a 1.8T from a modern VW in it. The engine bar was LOW though. Watch the bumps!

we had fun at ecc - food was real good - the people were - many thanks to the organizers for putting this thing together!
hope to see lots o pics posted over the next few daze.

i am guessing you guys are still sleeping - well unkonsious from the ruffies the good doc proc slipped in your drinks last night. if you wake up with your pajamas on backwards - you probably need to ask your smiling and smoking cigarette tent mate a few questions
hey - transaxles don't get repaired for free - gas grass or a#& - no body gets repaired for free
now you know what - in the night truly means
Shit... I am still in NJ...And missed it
We had a great time yesterday, and enjoyed the diversity of cars and the great people that came with them. The scenic drive went well for me and Keri, and I'm envious that I don't have that beautiful drive in my backyard.
I filled up with gas before we left town, and calculated my gas mileage at [b]40.339 mpg! We got home about 10 p.m. (without a hitch or glich) and I-95 traffic was heavy, but flowing well.
Thanks guys!
40mpg - i want one of those : )))
for everyone with pics - create a blog here and upload them there - it is easy and protects the pics forever - probably good to downsize them to 600 wide first though if you have alot of them. a free program to batch downsize is www.irfanview.com
Just got back from the ECC. Camped out overnite on Matts lawn along w/ Root. I haven't seen that many Teeners in one place since I visited AA. Many, many thanks to Matt & his family. Ken- what was in that excellent beer? I'm still hung over! Nice to put faces to names. 17 Teeners showed, but no more than 15 @ one time. 1 944, 2 Bugs & 2 very nice 912Es. Lots of Brownies- I've never seen so many brown interiors. Must have been 5 there. Pics-

But I already posted the best ones. :-) Some people just like to see more.
People, post up more pics. I know there were at least 4 of you with cameras!
Zach
Great event ! Matt and his wife were wonderful hosts with a beautiful house ! Ken's Jackstand home brew was a huge hit Great last night however the beers aftereffects this morning were a little ......rough That's certainly not Kens fault though. Nice to put some more faces and names together. To those of you who left early.....shame.........shame......shame on you
Matt and Family thank you so much. Everyone had a great time. Best ECC yet!
Thanks to the organizers and everyone who came! Awesome people and cars!
Killer cars, awsome hosts, killer home brew and it all went way to fast. It was like a quicky, alot of fun that didn't last but won't be forgotten. I have pics which will be shared on a later date in a John Holmes post howe extension kinda way.
Pics from the cruise...
More cruise pics...
The talented Dr. Evil
What a tremendous turnout!
We saw everything from concours to barely legal (street legal that is!).
As soon as I finish batch shrinking photos, I'll post 'em. It seems I took alot of pics of my car....I must be partial!
My personal favorites: Evan's red, the sandrail and the 1.8 GTI
Can't wait till next year!
Just got back into Charlotte from picking up the LE in VA Beach.
Here's some of the pics from ECC... will post more as soon as I can get some sleep.
Great meeting everyone.... and Matt, many thanks for opening up your home.
YOU all are awesome. I had a great time as host and will be in debt to Katherine for a long time. She pulled off the hat trick by ordering the food and arranging it in all the garage, and cleaned it all up on Sunday.
Root - special thanks to you for reinstalling my fuel pump. Folks the car runs! So, Al (Johnny Blackstain), referencing your photo, that car is now nestled in the garage, next to it's younger brother - the 76 911s.
Wow, I can't believe it's over. A truely fun time had by all. Let's not wait until next year to gather - whether a few or many.
Oh yeah, Zach I believe you left a red foldup chair. Now that the car runs I could zip up to York to drop it off.
Any pictures of the 1.8T car?
I'm glad y'all enjoyed the beer. It was a really simple one, really...
Mash-Tea:
1 lb. M20 crystal malt, steeped at 150 degrees for 30 minutes in 1.5 gallons water; collect the tea for the boil.
Full Wort Boil (using 8 gallon kettle and Cajun cooker):
7 lb. Muntons extra light dry malt extract
1 oz. Centennial leaf hops @ 9.8% - 60 min.
1 oz. Fuggles leaf hops @3.6% - 30 min.
1 tsp. Irish moss - 15 min.
1 oz. Fuggles leaf hops @ 3.6% - Flameout
Chill to 75 degrees before pitching yeast; add water as needed to make 5 gallons
Yeast:
1 packet Nottingham dry yeast, hydrated in 1 cup cooled boiled water
Ferment in primary for 4 days. Place 1 ounce Fuggles leaf hops in secondary and rack beer onto hops. Secondary time just under 6 weeks; rack to keg and force carbonate.
OG: 1.060
FG: 1.014
ABV: 6.1%
I use Muntons extra light for almost all extract batches any more. It never gives me a sour "extracty" taste. But I think the leaf hops really make it... almost all of my pale ales use leaf (rather than pellet) hops.
And of course the magic secret ingredient... all my beers are brewed with love.
Thanks to everyone for an unforgettable time. Matt and family, thanks so much for hosting this event, and also for giving me the honor of leading our cruise. As this was my first 914 event, that made it all the more memorable. Hope I didn't drive too slow for everyone, but we were trying to keep the group together (still lost a few!).
Ken, that was some killer homebrew. I'm going to try to make your recipe sometime.
Everybody was cool. I got some great ideas for my car. Can't wait until the next get-together!
It was a great event, too bad I had to be the first one to leave
Nice meeting a lot of new faces and seeing some really trick cars...seriously...I haven't see stuff like a 1.8T, 2.7 w/ crank-fire, a 3.2, rat-rod 305v8 and other assorted goodies in one place before...not to mention 2 mint condition 912Es, and a Beatle type IV transplant.
Great stuff, just VERY sad I couldn't sample the beer before I had to leave.
I'll stay longer next year, that's for sure!
Matt thanks again for hosting, it was a great event. Sorry I couldn't stay longer to enjoy the food and the beer...but I did at least get to Pittsburgh by 9pm (plenty of time to drink much worse brew).
It was fantastic to see everything from almost stock to incredibly modified there!
Got a wave from a Ferrari F430 driver, a Lotus Elise driver and a Boxster S on the one hour drive back to Baltimore. In other words, purchase price justified .
Matt & Katherine,
Thanks for a great time. Thanks Zach for pulling this together. Hope we didn't piss off the neighbors with all the exotic cars. Here's the good doc at work.
I finished off the weekend with a good round of golf with my brother in Leesburg. On the 168 yard par 3 18th over water, I birdied the hole with a 40 foot putt...after putting 2 balls in the water.
Got an additional treat today of a trip around the tarmac at Dulles Airport. My bro's company was finishing concrete on the new terminal and he had to drop off a trailer full of equipment. At one point we were driving along the tarmac right beside a 737 taxi'ing to its gate. Didn't get to see any 747s but there was an Airbus A340 and a 777 parked.

Actually the turbo is in it's stock position on the side, and the intercooler sits to the back of the engine. All together it is too tall for the rain tray, more reason to go faster! The mission of this car is an auto-x toy 1st. I put all the steel panels, doors, and street seats back on for this road trip.
Kevin
Thanks all!
It was good to catch up with you all and see what you have been doing with all your toys..
Thanks to Matt and Katherine, Rick, ken and all others who made this possible.
Matt, now that your car is running, come on by! Rick, lets get busy and get that 2.0 in....
all in all, great event, too bad we got there a little late without a running car...always next year..
Katherine & Matt,
Thank you for providing a wonderful place to have a meet! The Anemeties were perfect. BEST home brew I ever had, nice country drive and great company.
Thank you
Little Bean
Hey Root - did you leave a pair of needle nose vise grip plyers? or are they Dr Evils?
Here are a couple of pics taken of yours truly and the live entertainment. Root on rhythm guitar, JPB on Bass, Scotty B on the trash can and kitty litter drum set, and me on lead and vox:

Wow you look a bit f-ed up Me on the other hand well I'm trashed
Busy week here-- just got my first look at the photos. Good stuff, and a fine day we did have. Esp. thanks to the host, but also to all the longer distance drivers-- I had it easy, less than an hour. The drive up the mountain was a beauty-- glad I had my top off! And sorry I had to get on home, so missed the rest of the drive and the evening's shenanigans. A great tradition--let's keep it up. -Chris H.
John looks like he's asleep in that last one..... that or really....
sorry I had to get back on the road before the evening fun.
-Mike
Ha, I was just feelin it bro; usually play and sing with my eyes closed. Evil sang a very cool original song and we all felt it, that was a very cool moment, it flowed and we actually sounded pretty good. ScottyB actually made them trash cans sound musical, now thats was impressive. I think we could have played all night long with a little more beer. Notice the audience of one. Cool pics Mike!
Whoa... too bad we had to leave early. I could have made the cowbell sing!
If you made more beer, it would have been a massive crash site for the night. You had the world by the nads my friend; by the nads. Of all the hobbies I have ever seen, this zymdog deal is by far the coolest hobbie ever. You have converted me and can't wait to get started once I settle in somewhere. I get a feelin your cowbell will come in handy at the next event
Was that the, Official, announcement of next yrs. entertainment
3 Guitars, Drums ,and Zymurqist on COW BELL? We need to sell tickets.
Dave
Dave how are you doing ? I assume all went well in the O.R.?

Dave
Sounds like Octoberfest at Ken's house!
I'm on my way!
I'm thinking Oktoberfest at Babydoll's house... she needs some help that experienced 914 guys can knock out in an afternoon. I will bring some Belgian Tripel and my experimental Double IPA (not really hoppy enough to be a "real" double IPA, but tasty nonetheless), and perhaps something else if it's ready by then.
I hope I can make it to Caroline's house for that. Maybe I can fix her car.
2nd half of October is good for me. I'll be back from Myrtle Beach on the 8th (Sunday) and Saturday the 27th is bad (Halloween Party, my place!), but other thatn that, I'll be there!
Wow another ECC for Octoberfest so soon after the last? Start a new thread!
cool! i'm there if it's saturday. try to avoid conflict with the pca potomac club race being held the weekend of columbus day (Oct 5-7 ??)
Gimmie a where and when. Soon as I get that, I'll try to work it into my schedule. Mid october is exam time for me though, that could complicate issues. Another freind is trying to talk me into a 20 mile hike sometime around then too. So many choices....
Sooner its on the book, sooner I can book it.
Zach
20/21
or
27/28
i got a lot to do to get ready - got to gas up - check oil - check water level - get a good night sleep - like ROCKY - no women for a week so I can up up to my full strength : )
jim
You guys are gonna kill my weekend werk schedule ! I allow myself 1 weekend a month to do nothing and I'm already commited to a camping trip sometime on Oct. NOw you all come up with this ! It really isn't getting topgether with you dopes as much as it is about getting some of that fine ass cider/beer concoction
You heard it hear, Scotty likes "ass cider/beer"!
Eeew
So it most have been Scotty who siphoned most of Ken's excellent brew at ECC.
: : Hey guys, Ken just pointed out this thread, the part about up-fixin'der-Babydoll at Matsys out in Sterling. Are you guys serious??!? That would be awesome... she's shakin' like Katherine Hepburn, but she could certainly make it out there. I'm thinking most of the week-ends in the middle of October would work, for me at any rate... heck, this week-end is supposed to be LOVELY, how 'bout this Saturday (the 29th)? Scott G. is sending me a replacement, working TPS switch, I should have it any day now. Ken says I have timing problems, among other issues. Sigh. I could show up with either brownies or a batch o' chili, (bribe food, we call that), Ken could bring homemade beer, and we could have a good time, like we did last time we met at Root's. Of course, this is predicated upon the availability of the shop in Sterling... you really serious about this?
You guys are too cool, you know that, right?!?!
Hey Caroline,
I don't know if that would be enough notice for some (most) of us. I know that I am busy this weekend, and had been trying to hold out some time in mid/late october for this little GTG.
