914World.com _ 914World Garage _ 911 901 in a bus

I know its possible, I just know it.

5 speeds in a bus would be helpful.

Only Q would be if the final drive in a bus tranny would be the same in a 901?

in 5th (and 4th) going same speed, RPM seems to be around same in both the 914 and my buddy's bus.

I'm thinking that the 901 would put up with a tad more abuse.

Go to thesamba.com and look in the forum section. They are as wacked out as us when it comes to buses.

901 vs a Bus tranny? No way the 901 will put up with more abuse. Those Bus trannys are what guys in the dunes are using, I doubt you will see many 901s out there.

PM Cap'n Krusty. He can probably tell you more than you want to know about it. He did it with the ThunderBus.

you want 5 speeds? WTF.gif

Get a Euro spec 091 5 speed tranny, its more like a close ratio box as its the same final drive .89.

Did you ever locate those shifter parts?? I can use them as I will be rebuilding my 091 in two weeks.

Geoff,

Its a metal shifter ball ( instead of plastic) that can be bought online from somewhere?

There's also a short shift kit I can pick up this weekend

I'll let you know
