Started to bolt my pressure plate to my 914-6 (which wasan early 901 flywheel) and I noticed that the ring gear lip is too wide and the six bolts won't bottom properly.
There are no part numbers on this flywheel so I start measuring to see if the specs are ok...all within spec except the starter ring has 109 teeth not 130 like my four cylinder flywheel?
So the bolt pattern is six bolts for an early 911 crank, externally it looks like a 914 flywheel, 911 pilot bearing fits -could it be to fit a 911 engine in a bus with a 215mm flywheel or something?
Very early 911 flywheel , great for a 356 conversion.Does it have the brass pilot bushing?
here is a nos one;

thanks Jeff, so what box is it for? Or is it for a 901 but uses a different starter gear + pressure plate?
Is it for a 4 speed 901 -didn't know there was one until i did a bit of seaching.
So presumably there is a compatable starter + pressure plate?
