914World.com _ 914World Garage _ swivel foot and U.F.O.? adjuster

Posted by: orange914 Jul 31 2007, 12:29 AM

o.k. here it is... today we picked up a set of o.e.m. swivel foot adjusters to have shaved .060 and use on the 2056. we then pulled the 2.0 rockers and was very happy to find p.o. had put in solid spacers. also whats with the "roller/ball tip"? in the picture is the swivels, 1.7 stock, and 2.0 parts box rails. are the 2.0 stock or aftermarket? which is best? confused24.gif

Those on the right look like BUGPACK swivels for a type 1.

lots of adjuster options:

I think the current consensus is the swivel foot (not ball) like you show on the bottom of the photo are the best. Be sure to use OEM Porsche though. This style is also called Porsche type or elephant foot.

I'd be interested in learning about anyone's experience with the ball type though. The balls are lubed internally with their own oil passages, unlike the Porsche type.

Sure they're not off a '77? Or a '66? Or maybe a '73? The Cap'n
