914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Rear shifter bushing

Posted by: 396 Aug 14 2007, 12:56 AM

Not sure if this has been done.. has any one developed and or converted their
side shifter bushing ( where shift rod connects to cup /ball) to brass?

part number 914-424-224-02-M100 on bird board.

Mine has excessive clearance ie1-2 mm - thus when shifting in to 1st some times i will engage 3rd.
Any suggestions is much appreciated

Yup, been done by a few. Searching will yield pics, too.

Patrick Motorsports sells a brass one thats oversize on the OD, since the hole is wallowed out so often.

If you put it in backwards, you can't get it into some of the gears anymore. Don't ask me how I know.

I called Patrick and ordered a set. SWW914, can you expand your advice,
are you saying that the circlip 'faces' to the rear of the car and does it come with simple instruction?

Thank to all
