Does anyone know how well cryogenically treated jugs / barrels would hold up?
I will let you know.
I'm feeling as giddy as a school girl....
I have been cryoing components since 1999...
Put it this way, you'd better do all the machine and honing work prior to the process... Afterward you'll be hating life if you try to modify the cylinders..
I have bee working with these guys on refiningthermal cycles for 9 years www.cryoguys.com
Its truly incredible stuff..
BTW_ a complete thermal cycle will not only include extreme cold, but also extreme heat- our cycles take 3 solid days to complete.
We use the contractor that does the work for Solar Turbines. They walked us through their assembly and treatment plant that has a nitrogen quenching bell they use for space shuttle assemblies. Think 2 VW buses in size.
He told me a story about how he dented some 600 million dollar widget and they were like, "no problem, we'll drop off another one tomorrow"
