914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Fuel Filter Replacement

Posted by: mdwman Oct 3 2007, 07:25 AM

I am planning to replace the fuel filter on my '73 1.7 this weekend and need to go ahead and replace the fuel hoses that connect the filter as well. I've searched previous posts and the diagram on PP for the type hoses and see that the hose from filter to fuel pump is 7mm high pressure but the tubing from filter to fuel line is referred to as an "intake pipe" and has a different diameter on each end. Is this part an actual hose like the fuel hose or is it a rigid pipe?

Also, any tips on getting good access to the filter? It sure is tucked up there under the right side!

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is rubber - basically a stepped diameter piece of fuel hose.
