Were 1970, 914-6 bumpers ALWAYS chrome, never any other factory posibilities?
The second owner of never damaged or altered 914-6, says his were Black from the factory?

The 1970-1974 bumper was more or less a flat panel between the valance and the cap. Through 1972 there were two varieties. Standard fare included painted to match the cars exterior paint color.
Chrome plated bumpers were offered as a part of the appearance group option package. These were standard equipment on the 914-6.
Bumpers on the 914-6 GTs looked identical to the standard cap and bumper, but were a single part made of fiberglass. An opening for the front-mounted oil cooler was centrally located on the lower panel.
I would ask for a COA from Porsche to show exactly what items came with the car.
