who's going, just say if you are and if it's more than you how many?
Yes, the whole famn damily... hopefully
YUP
Whats JP's . . ?
How do I get there?
Who's going from seattle?
I'm new here, but if I don't fight fires this summer I'll be a regular at everything- might as well get started early.
Robert O
Wenatchee
I'll need a ride up there or a ride back.
B
Fly in, I just saw tickets to Seattle for $135 round trip on United.
I am going witha 914 car this year.
JP is JP Stein who is the second oldest first badass 914/6 AX driver on the West Coast.
Do a search as there are TONS of pictures on his car and projects.
Geoff
What's Jp having? I might have a car running by that point!
Eric
Sounds good I need directions. Myself and wife, possibly another Porche freak and his turbo cayenne.
No need to bring a 914 or "other" Porsche.....a gud line of bullshit will suffice. I have a map ....somewhere in the bowels of my old puter. I'll retreive and Email it to whoever needs it.
BTW, it's snowing again.
I wouldn't miss this for any thing. Well maybe something. No not for anything. Jim Chambers will be there also. Paris Hilton is coming, you know, the simple life and all.
CCLINVANCOUVERUSA
Far freakin' out!.. it's JP's annual party!
I'll be driving down from Seattle on Friday the 23rd, and staying at the Holiday Inn Express in N. Vancouver (Salmon Creek Blvd).. excellent place.. I'll probably stay for 2 nights.
If I fly in.. where would I fly into ??
Portland I suspect ? Would JP pick me up in the Hot Rod MR2 ?
B
Fly into PDX. and if JP don't pick you up in the hotrod I'll come get ya in the Scooby w/ studs on! whizzzzzz snapppp crackle can't mind dog hair tho
.........b
I'm sure we can arrange something. We have a spare bed
if you have the need. No new Band of Brothers, tho.
Heh heh heh it sounds good! I wouldn't mind seeing some of you old suckers again . I'm not gauranteeing I'll make it but when its closer I will now for sure.
Probablly won't have another 914 by then but who knows.
Come on Jamie, trailer up something for us to look at!
Geoff
Hey I got an old Triumph flat track racer(motorcycle) I could throw in the back of the truck! That work for you Geoff
I beleive John Bedard would have a woodie on that one.
CCLINTWOTUESDAY
me and my wife will be there
sounds fun
I'll be there. Might bring my son if he's caught up on homework. Might be the teeners maden flight after being all apart. We'll see
Dave
I'm gonna have to postpone this for a bit.....to sometime after 15 Feb....21st would be good.
I've just gotten too far behind the power curve and can't get ready.
Do you want some help??
CCLINCAMP914
Thanks for the offer, Craig.
My problem is lack of time and too much happening....I'm at wurk now and will be again tomorrow.....God knows what next weekend will bring.
....but I do know that my daughter is calving Monday....C-section. Hopefully, these issues will clear up by the 2nd week of next month.
10-4 good buddy... got the foot planted on the JAKE.......
good luck to the daughter,
grampa
...................b
Is it to late to rsvp? I might even have my 914 running by then.
Mike
P.S. - Nice photos Bruce
A running 914? Good heavens, what will they think of next
It's never too late.....till it's over.
Thanks JP.
OK, 21 Feb looks good. I promise not to change it..... If I can't make it, I'll put Craig/Jim in charge.
Can we get an update on this from admin?
The wife volunteered to take care of the food thing....I knew she was a keeper 30 odd years ago ... so all I have to do is clean the place up and hide all the portable gud parts laying around....or nail them to the work bench.
Damn, going to your place is like going to a racing junkyard. I filled my pockets with everything that wasn't nailed down.
Too bad the alarm went off when I left! You were nice to me and just had me empty my pockets of the cool parts.....
Maybe you could do a easteregg hunt with leftover parts?
Geoff
Werks for me. The only hang up I may have is if we move that weekend.
Mike
Could I get a time and Address, we would like to show up.
Morph, are you bringing a car with all of your goodies on it?
Mike
I'll be getting directions out to everyone that has replyed here a week in advance. of the event, K?
Good, I am too old to remember how I got there last year.....
Geoff
I can't remember either but, we gotta hope JP isn't so old he can't remember how he got there.
Dave
Looks like I'm out. Gotta go to Chicago for work. Play nice, kids.
We'll get together one of these days, Chris.....by then, I'll have more/better lies saved up
Mueller,Andy, and I are trying to figure out how to make this happen. I also spoke with Dave Darling about attending with us since we all live in the same general vicinity. Muller has a crew cab trunk and so do I.. so we could feesibly get 4 people from the SF bay area to the event.
B
Please add me to the list that you are sending time and directions to. I may have to work some on that day so I am a tentative only. If I could figger out how to post my photo in my "name" box, I might come up with a car pic. Lemme see if I can do one by hitting this button down here....
Jeff in Beaverton.

Good to go......
See you at JP's
Geoff
Nice car Jeff. I luv white teeeners!
That setting sure looks familiar.
........b
Hi Bruce,
Don't know if you recognize the setting for that photo (it was Jenkin's Estate in Aloha) but you'd recognize the one below. This was your teener and mine at the Roadhouse about a year ago.
Jeff
Attached image(s)
count me in too. i'll add another white teener to the mix for you bruce!
~a
Jeff, THAT picture of your 914 at the Jenkins estate is worthy of printing. Good job buddy Blow that suck'a up & stick it up where everyone can see it I thought the car looked familiar too. I remember our little gathering & DD was there too!
Aaron, sure hope you bring yer "rail car" out to the auto cross this year. We need more teeners out there for a good showing. Looking forward to seeing you guys at JP's
.........b
Count in a silver one unless I have to haul parts, then its a blue Caravan
Attached image(s)
I'll also attend. Don't know about the teener though (I am in the process of removing all the undercoating)
Keith
ps can we bring
so what's the tally?
kevin
Around 25, thus far. This includes some local Porsche
guys that don't come to this BBS.
My work schedule says yes, no family obligations, Ill be there.
I'm still hoping to go...JP, are you going to email a street address? Anyone from the west metro area of Portland heading up? Jeff
I'll be going. Even driving a 914 I think. Live off Leahy near Barnes Rd. (above St V's). Happy to meet up and caravan if you like.
OK.
I changed my map plans & went with mapquest.
Anybody that wants one email me at has9146@comcast.net.

Street addy is 3810 NE 39th St.
I don't think I can go, BUT I may need some help.
I'm hoping to deliver a 2.7 / 6 to Seattle next weekend, to SOMEONE..if so I may also be bringing a set of wheels for Craig C Laughlin, who would kindly love for someone to ferry them down to Jp's for him. Is anyone driving something that can accomodate the wheels?
I would meet them maybe saturday morning and hand em' over.
Still not quite solid on the plan, I haven't heard from the guy who wanted the 2.7.
Bob O
I am planning to take the 914 unless its rainning, I can't stand to drive for 2hrs in that car in the rain. Too many SUV's on the freeway switching lanes without lookin....
Geoff
Or maybe theres 3 or 4 914's going?
We could put 1 wheel in each car!!
Just for the heck of it, if the guy decides against taking the 2.7 engine I may consider hauling it down to JP's if someone from down south can't live without it. That may be the only reason good enough for my ol' lady to let me off sat. night.
Bob O
I had a conflict and didnt think i was gonna make it, yesterday after a bit or V-day charm, its lookin a bit more promising
Im w/Geoff was gonna drive the teener unless the weather was foul, but took her out for a spin yesterday and the bitch stranded me(the teener not the Wife).
No start after replacing the F'n starter the week before. So unless I can resolve befor next weekend it may be the trk.
So Bob maybe.
no good on the used selenoid, huh? you guys that are rain wimps crack me up. how long have you lived here?
kevin
I have driven the 914 in the rain on the freeway and when its rainning I can't see shit from the water off other cars at 70mph!
2 hrs of driving blind in the dark coming back in the rain ain't gonna happen again. If its wet I will be in the Ranger and can take the wheels Bob.
If its nice I will drive the 914, trying this week to get the CD and speakers working again after Blair rewired em..
Kevin, you are the one who can barely drive to Seattle from Tacoma! Talk about lazyass!
Geoff
Hay, I found my MAP from last year. Anybody want a copy?.....it'll be a collectors item in bout a thousand years.
Shoulda had it today.....60ish and sun.
(edit)
NO PM, please. I can't put an attachment onto a reply.
Contact me at: has9146@comcast.net.
Yes today would have been good, took the V8 out of the barn, let it breath. Drove great, scared the crap out of myself a couple of times. But I like it.
May have to swap the coil, will not start when hot. Cranks no fire. It is all MSD equipped.
CCLINV8HEAVEN
OOPS.....send me email for a map....PMs doan wurk for that.
Addy:
has9146@comcast.net.
Craig:
Got spark?
I've decided to go to JP's, too.. autocross can wait.
Anyone staying overnight, want to share a room at Holiday Inn Express, N. Vancouver?..
have a beer or two at JP's, sleep, drive home the next day.
JP Yes I hear spark, not sure what color spark?? I have an extra Blaster 2 so I will change and see what happens.
CCLINSPRKSNEVADA
That thing has FI, right?
Humm.....it IS a 914, ya know. Vapor lock?
Yes it is a V8 914 with Holley Projection (fuel injection) , I am going to look at vapor lock cures also.
CCLINICOULDHAVEHADAV8
Rog are you gonna drive the teener down?
Hey, Rich.. yes, that is my goal. I'm getting some work done on it this week.. heating system checked and timing and a/f checked (engine runs hot) on Wednesday, new 195/60 tires mounted + balanced and aggressive street alignment done at Fordahl's on Thursday. I think it'll be ready to go by Thursday afternoon (fingers crossed). I don't need the Mahle for my spare now, so whenever.. no hurry..
If the teener isn't ready, I'll take my '84 RX-7.
JP...it's been so long since the engraved invitations for your soire were received that my aging mind has forgotten the start time. Hate to come too early and get you up. I've seen you in your robe and it's not a pretty sight!
Yeah?.... well it woulda been worser without the robe
1ish is good but you can come earlier to help set up.
BTW, My chair count is low. If ya wanna sit, bring your own chair.
I'll bring my own chair
Jim, I'll give you a call betw 11AM and Noon and then swing by to meet you at your place. We can tour up to JP's together. Let me know if you are planning to go earlier. The weather guessers are still saying the weather will be passable. I'm bringing the teener regardless.
Jeff, I'll be here. See you Saturday.
I still don't have a 914 but I'll try to make it up. I'm afraid my wife has the day planned allready though. I'll just have to put my foot down & if I'm still alive I'll be there
for anyone who's planning on attending and might want (or need) to get their teener (or whatever you drive to jp's) detailed while you're in vancouver, a buddy of mine just opened a detail shop in town and is offering 25% off to anyone who mentions the 914club. premier auto detail, 360-737-0808. josh is his name, and he's quite an accomplished detailer. just thought i'd pass along this shameless plug if'n anyone was interested.
~a
I'm bringing WEVO 915 conversion parts with me (for show and tell)
B
So what time is this meeting at JP's?
Geoff
Who was it that wanted to share a room on Friday/Saturday night ??
I'll need a place to stay (cheap) and sluts are ok.
B
Kerist, doesn't any body read this drivel ???....well, I can't much blame ya
Geoff: 1 ish
Brad: my place has a bed.....I'm the only slut there, tho.
OH yeah.. DUH.
I forgot you have an extra room..
B
Okay let me see if I have this right, we all meet at JPs Friday night for a slumber party and there will be sluts there. Then we get up at 1ish and we touch a piece of prehistoric 914 history, then we shot the shit and drive around in 914s, then we all go home.
Next weekend, right??
CCLINPJS
So...
I'm thinking I may be able to make it...the weather can only stop me.
Who's leaving from Seattle (area) Saturday Morning, where are you meeting, and what time?
And, Who's staying in Van. Saturday and who's returning to Seattle?
I woudn't mind staying in Portland or Vancouver to keep from driving back to seattle sat. night.
I'll split that room with whoever (weather again, permitting) but I got small boobs.
Bob O
What time are you pushing people out the door JP? There's still a chance I might make it!
The weather guessers are saying 51 and partly cloudy...which means mostly sunny...go figure.
Craig is bringing some prehistoric history to fondle....but he may be talkin' about Jim.
It went on far into the night last time...One of the Daves stayed late and Brad didn't leave till the next day
Woohoo! Class gets out at 5pm...I'll drive up if I don't have too much homework (gotta go to class again Sunday though ...the things I've got to do to keep current... )
I need a left rear brake caliper for my '76.. anyone have a spare they can sell to me at JP's?
Still have engine "surging" but going to Gerber or Redmond European for help with that.
Typical last-minute shtuff..
Send a PM to Boxster (Craig Laughlin). He has buckets full of calipers. Probably no way to tell if they need rebuilding or not but I bet his price will be right.
Damn you having alot people over.my inventory of part sells regularly i made some extra parts.but they get bought as fast as i make them.even the extras.
any requests for part to bring or people just wanna see ?my daily driver has a sound solution in it.ill be driving that.when i went to the seattle breakfast it got some crud stuck in one of the IDFs,and ran like crap its running better now that i cleaned my carbs.
i might be alittle early im getting some drive time in havent been able to do that for a while.its always nice to cruze youre 914.and btw its not a show car or powder puff.its a true daily driver the od.stoped working at 475.000 miles and that was in 98.
and it has never left me on the side of the road.and its been to 28 of the 50 states.its more of a friend than a car to me.hope to have a good time meeting some of you.
Are we gonna have name tags? Stickys that we can write our club name & reglar name. Din't we have that last JP meet? Shore do hep alot when we put face to name (or name to face) If'n they're needed I can bring 'm along with a cooler of
FAT TIRE
............b
I'll be the one in the "phantom" 914 with the single malt.
This is what it looked like last time..........Brad, Craig and Tom's wife
Attached image(s)
We'll be leaving tomorrow (Fri), and stay in Hillsburito.
We will prolly get to JPs at 1p. If 3 or 4 of you sluts... uhmm... guys could hang out down by the road to help unload my chair, that'll be great.
I really enjoy this kind of stuff. Last one wasa blast. THANKS JP !!
Sure, Bruce, bring some name tags.
We gots food & beverages.....but no beer. You gotta bring your own beers & chairs.
What time are you Seattle guys gonna roll thru Tacoma? I'd like to meet up. Company on the road is kinda fun?
Dave
Stupid space-time continuum.. Korijo's heading out on Friday, me on Saturday, not sure about Geoff and RichD and los otros muchachos.
Rich, I'll probably see you at Gerber today.
I'll be heading out at 10AM sooo I be blow by tackyoma at 10:30AM. Call me on the cell phone.
Geoff
Kevin told me he has to stay home and sell 914club stickers. Sorry Kevin.
Maybe next time.
CCLINFAST14
How late will this little TeenerFest be going until?
I have to work Saturday morning ... but Saturday night might be a possibility
Thanks
Eddie
do not count me out yet. there is a weigh station past ft lewis just before you start down the nisqually grade. i maybe lurking there. if you should be overtaken by a small silver car, try and keep up.
kevin
Geoff
If you leave thst early, it's less than 2hrs from T town to Vancouver, you'll be early. Might catch JP in his robe. I don't think I'm up for that.
Dave
CAUTION: I've been there. You not only have to deal with the view, but he's surly in that condition.
Anyone having "issues" can call me at 360 693 8404.
I not going to work today......the sun is out.
Rich
We're going to Vancouver not Longview. Your nose must be confused.
Dave
Rich, yes I'm interested in the caliper.
Geoff, are we meeting somewhere in the south end?.. maybe 10:00'ish?
---
Portland weather forecast:
Saturday: Partly cloudy, high 55.
Saturday night: Partly cloudy, low 35.
Sunday: Partly cloudy, high 50.
Sunday night: Partly cloudy, low 40.

JP how about that Map? Did I recall a mention of needing chairs?
Look at page 3 of this thread. Our host posted his address and a Mapquest link.
Sun's gonna shine. I'm drivin' the green 914-6 that I want to sell (brief commercial break).
so, kevin, is the auto-cross at bremerton off now? it sounds like you may be heading south. who is planning on going to bremerton; anyone?
JP - See you around noon if thats ok. I have to work at 5 do I can't stay too late.
Check out the undercoat-less car. Need to sell it. 74 2.0. Make an offer.
Keith
Keith send a pic.
CCLINCAMP914
What time???
1 ish till 6-7-8
Rich, give me a call. I was leaving Seattle at 10am. Gotta try to figure out why the turnsignal/brakelite/tach/oiltemp fuse blows every 5 minutes. Yeah, I know a short but where?
DaveHunt, I was figuring on drivinng at 65 all the way to Vancouver plus stopping maybe for a bite along the way. I don't want to drive straight thru (my back is sore already)
Geoff
man, 0 miles on the odo and you're whinning. the "country cousin" in centralia has good chow. go down 167 to 512. does the fuse pop when you turn on the turn signal or put on the brakes. i'll carry a few extra fuses for you geoff by the way, the speed limit is 70.
kevin
"an ouch for every expansion strip"
I am not eating there again! I went there with Monique and the kids last year. I was sick all the way to Portland.
No the fuse blows when I am driving without hitting the brakes/turnsignals.
I know the speed limit in 70, I said that cuz you always drive so slow and I want you to keep up with the rest of us.
Geoff
Starbucks in Centralia... cant go wrong there
ETD - 930
ETA at Starbucks - 11
Good idea! Love that lemon bread.
see you at the weigh station. i hit the first rest stop out of olympia. dr h., if you're reading give me a call before you head out. if anybody has a few of the clips that hold the fog grills (maybe a screw or 3 also) please bring them along.
kevin
Geoff
I'll look for you in Tacoma about 10:30 like you planned. I'll give you a call about 10:20 and catch ya near the Tacoma mall. Off to get some Heffie for JP and some gas. Topped off the oil, took a whole quart. I better take the hind end. Don't want anyone lost in the smoke screen.
Dave
Crap! I will be stuck at the shop most of the day doing a supercharger install, gotta pay the bills Maybe next time.
