UPDATE

the price is $70.00 before shipping.

The deal is, he will ship all of them to me and I will ship to everyone at that point to make less work for the vendor keeping costs down, no taxes and insuring the product is what it should be.

To get this deal you must email me or PM me your shipping information and how many you are ordering.

I will take check, money order, paypal

I am asking that the payments are sent to me by the end of this week if there are any problems with this date contact me.

I am sorry for those who wanted these but it looks like we are not going to be able to get the pedal only.

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 5 2004, 02:19 PM

OK so via paypal I can accept credit card payments.

I am going to ship via flat rate priority envelope with the parts protected. This is the very cheapest running 3.85 plus if you want insurance + 2.20 and delivery confirmation is + 0.45

If you want alternative shipping email me

PM or Email me your Name, shipping info and payment info.

Posted by: seanery Jan 5 2004, 02:34 PM

Kelly,

have you weighed a set? Don't get yerself screwed by shipping. I'm sure all of us would pay an extra buck or so, just so you don't lose out. It's not fair to you if it costs more.

-sean

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 5 2004, 02:47 PM

The good thing about the flat rate envelopes is it doesnt matter where they go as long as they are national and it doesnt matter how much they weigh, the envelope just has to be able to close.

I am really trying not to have to cover any extra costs and I think I have though of most problems that may occur(yeah right rolleyes.gif ).

I will let everyone know if shipping turns out to be a problem and may ask everyone to cover the difference.

Posted by: Bill Shaw Jan 5 2004, 05:37 PM

If they're still available, I'd like a set too. Let me know and I'll send a check out tomorrow.

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 5 2004, 05:49 PM

there is still time if you didnt sign up earlier

PM or email me

Posted by: bernbomb914 Jan 5 2004, 07:16 PM

please sign me up also. can I pay by paypal?

Bernie

Posted by: Malmz Jan 6 2004, 12:33 AM

Add one more set por favor. Just really need the pedal since I already have momo covers on the clutch and brake, but what the heck.

Which email address for the Paypal? I'll also send a PM.

Kelly,

sorry to be such a pain in your butt.... and thanks a ton for going to all of the trouble to put this together...

DOES ANYONE KNOW THE WEIGHT OF JUST THE THROTTLE PEDAL IN METAL?

I'm thinking of bailing on the purchase.... because I really only need the throttle, and it might be lighter to buy stock...

Does anybody know?
thanks again fellas for all the help
brant

Posted by: seanery Jan 6 2004, 09:41 AM

Brant,
I've got one loose, but I don't have a scale sensitive enough to weigh it.

Posted by: Jeroen Jan 6 2004, 09:50 AM

The stock pedal is pretty heavy (metal structure inside thick rubber padding), so I'd be surprised if this one would be (much) heavier

If you wan't light weight, you could check if the plastic gas pedal from later 911s fits

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: brant Jan 6 2004, 10:07 AM

thanks for the idea Jeroen..

Sean, do you have a stock one that you can hold in one hand and the metal in the other?
(this would be a good enough test for me)

thanks guys for always helping me out...
brant

Posted by: seanery Jan 6 2004, 10:18 AM

sorry, stock on is on the car, and its 5 degrees ohmy.gif in my garage, so I'm not gonna take it off for the test.

Posted by: Jeroen Jan 6 2004, 10:22 AM

I "think" the later (plastic) gas pedals have the ball-cup in a different location, and might screw up the geometry of the throttle-lever / gas cable actuator
(you can see from the pics earlier in this thread that this pedal has 2 ball cups)

Other than that, I'd say that this pedal would be a nice upgrade since it has a real hinge and isn't swiveling on a thin peace of rubber/plastic

For lightness you can always drill extra / bigger holes biggrin.gif

cheers,

Jeroen

Posted by: seanery Jan 6 2004, 10:24 AM

Brant, its a nice pedal. I like the feel, it is a bit thick, but that's ok. I really wouldn't worry about the weight, if it weighs more, skip your cheerios that morning and you've saved more weight than it put on. wink.gif

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 6 2004, 10:35 AM

Brant,

No worries if its not what you need.

The biggest draw for me to this type of pedal is the hinge, I have had 2 914's with pedal wobble due to the rubber hinge tearing and with this hinge I would think that it would totally prevent this from happening.

Posted by: brant Jan 6 2004, 10:38 AM

Kelly,
I'll make up my mind then today .....

Sean,
I understand.. It's 2 or 3 degrees here right now...

brant

Posted by: Malmz Jan 6 2004, 10:51 AM

QUOTE(Jeroen @ Jan 6 2004, 08:22 AM)

For the record, the stock pedal is supposed to have a real hinge in it too (at least all the one's I have seen). The problem with them is that it is made of steel and exposed on the bottom where shoe moisture accumulates and leaky m/cs dump their fluid. The stock hinge rusts, goes away, then you are left with a floppy piece of rubber for the pedal to pivot on.

sm

Posted by: seanery Jan 6 2004, 11:12 AM

Just so everyone doesn't freak out when they get their pedals. The hinge will need to be flipped. They come in the 944 type config, not 911/914. Its a simple change though.

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 6 2004, 11:33 AM

Thanks for the tip, how is this acomplisher push the pin out and turn the base, replace the pin?

Posted by: seanery Jan 6 2004, 12:36 PM

thats it!

Posted by: brant Jan 6 2004, 02:41 PM

Kelly,

I'm going to bail on you now...
just don't need the whole set, and have a good stock pedal which will work fine....

I'll move this to my "someday list"

thanks for all of the work putting this together... and if you get stuck with any extra sets.. drop me a note.

I'm sure he didn't have that many in stock. I'd call 'em, but don't be surprised if it's another week or so.

Posted by: echocanyons Jan 20 2004, 11:36 AM

we had a total of 33, I made sure that the stock was there and ready to ship before I submitted the order. The order probably went from the supplier to the vendor and then out to me, this is probably where the delay happened that and the MLK holiday.
I have left a message and hopefully I will have some news by this evening.

Pedals arrived to me today

I will be starting to send fri and will finish monday.

I have found a USPS box that might suit our purpose for shipping and does not change the cost of shipping. I gotta test fit then weigh and if it works then I will send (nationally) in this box rather than the envelope.
Jeroen and si2t3m I will be sending yours monday.

I will email each of you when your pedals go out.

I got mine in the afternoon mail. They look great.

Hard part of install will be not taking the car out when done. We got 8+" of snow today in Minnesota, not car driving weather.

Thanks a bunch, Kelly.

Wife just called me at work, and said something is here from TX, followed by now what did you buy for the car. I just used her usual mall shopping excuse and told here that they were on sale. laugh.gif

Got mine too, BTW, Thanks.

I will probably keep them for my next car, but if anybody local wants to check them out and buy them for what I paid, let me know too.
