ok, here's what i have so far:
it's going to be a 2056!
i got
the case (GA)
stock crank
stock rods
stock heads
i still need
pistons
cylinders
CAM
scored 2 x 2.0L heads from EASY today for $25 each.
they need some work, but hey, what else is new.
i know the 2.0 is weak (flow-wise) on the exhaust side,
so i'm thinking bigger exhaust vales. i saw rebuild racing heads
today that had 38mm ex-vales. seemed like as big as you can go. right?
what size header should i ran with that?
what size valve on the intake?
also, what's the highest CR i can run on premium (california) pump gas?
is 10:1 too high ???
as for the CAM, i would like one with just a moderate increase in lift,
but a much longer duration than stock. any objections?
overall, i'm more interested in lower-rpm power than a high rev(ing) engine.
oh, and yes, the engine will be used as a daily driver as well as for auto-X and time-trail.
but focus will be daily driver. so, i need some mileage before the next rebuild.
HELP!
Andy
dude the webcam 494 is nice for torque in street driving situations. It pulls nice, well, hell, you drove my car. That's the cam I've got and its only a 2.0.
Andy, are you modifying your d-jet?
I have some 96mm Nickies on the shelf w/ KBs screamin your name.... :-)
Happy new years guys by the way!

I think it's nappy, nap time.
I can't watch that avatar drink one more beer.

42 intakes and have the heads ported! I am running the 38mm exhaust valves and can't complain.
Jake will probably know on the compression if you go to a split duration cam. I'll guess 9 to 1 with a standard cam (non oem).
Geoff
geoff, did you buy new barrels or did you have jerry open your's up ($?)?
kevin
new
I love it here. Except today it is pouring rain and very windy. Lots to do, and it is nice to have a healthy 914 following close by.
