I'm thinking of doing that too, can you point me to where I get the advice and where you bought your stuff?

Nice paint.....keep it out of the sun when NOT driving and it will last forever.....

Posted by: Ray Warren Jan 1 2004, 07:09 PM

the thread for doing it is on this board.
it was about two wks ago.
do a search on vinyl and you should find it.
follow those tips and the instructions on the can
and you should not have any problems with it.
the new vinyl came with the car when i bought it but
i have seen it on pelican (i think).

i have yet to drive this car but i think it will be in my
garage under repair more than it will be in the sun.

damn nice sail vinyl!

are the trim pieces new or just reel purdy?

Posted by: Ray Warren Jan 1 2004, 07:15 PM

the bottom pieces are new.

Posted by: seanery Jan 1 2004, 07:23 PM

sweet, where did you get them? pricey?

Posted by: Ray Warren Jan 1 2004, 07:32 PM

i bought them from a local guy called
"harmony road porsche parts" they were $35.00 cdn each.

for you canadian guys on the board, this guy has a lot
of stuff. new and used. he has at least 20 to 30 914's.
he is not the cheapest guy around but when you consider
the exchange rate of the doller, customs charges and shipping, it probably works out about the same as shipping from the us.
and for me, i don't have to wait for it to be shipped.
he is about 1.5 hours from me.

Nice job clap56.gif It looks good.

There is a place in Palo Alto that sells pre-cut kits for the 914. It is called Palo Alto upholestry. They are on the same piece of property as my body shop guy's.

I have a new set I'll never use. I like the painted sail look. I was going to out them on evil-bay, but if someone here needs them I'll send them to ya for 20 bucks just to cover my packing/shipping/dealing with UPS.

914ray,

Does this "harmony road porsche parts" have a web-site or phone number or something. I'm always looking for some Canadian parts suppliers, even if they are way over on the east side. Are they good to deal with? Sounds promising.
