914World.com _ 914World Garage _ totally OT: for the peace loving hippies

got to love this, talk about being put in line. the kids out there trying to be cool with their anti bush and anti war talk really should try thinking instead of protesting just because it's the latest fad.

Oh, I think he has to go, but thru the UN instead of OUR guys dying to do it.
I don't like the US as the world's policeman since when did we get voted to be that?

saw a interesting special on abc7news last night.
they showed a bush speech from early january.
something along the lines that saddam had to be taken out
because he wasn't accepting the UN security council
as a authority and that he wasn't complying with
their resolutions and how that was enough to take him out.

look who's talking, haha ... happy11.gif

The one thing unique to the world of automobiles and motorsports is the total lack of world politics.

Vortex

I listened to the audio file. Very humorous but not all that insightful. Conceded, the 18 year old girl arguing on the radio was pretty vapid. But if the only way the pro-war movement can win an argument is by making sure they only engage in discussions with vapid 18 year olds, then it doesn't speak well for their position.

you've got it wrong, the pro peace person was the guest and therefore "voice" of the show. the pro war person merely called in to ask a simple question. the pro peace girl was the one going out of her way to "spread the word". LOL.

anyways, it was just something funny. I don't think she'll be working for the UN anytime soon.

andy, the UN is not following their own resolutions, which is why bush is taking matters into his own hands. as you know there were UN resolutions made after the first war in regards to saddam and disarming. the UN is doing nothing to enforce their own policies.

In a way, yes. But I come to these boards expecting to talk, learn and share info about cars. In this case, 914s. I don't expect to find anything here about Chevy trucks. There are several BBS's for that. I don't come here for politics. I tried to be subtle, but you force me out.

I didn't invent that statement about motorheads and politics. It's a well known courtesy to leave your politics at home when you go to the track. At least it used to be. The world today is careless, rude, undedicated and the so called world leaders are totally inept. We know this. As a refuge, some take to cars as a diversion. I'm one of those.

So it probably wasn't too sarcastic.

makes perfect sense. i told brad he was going to be in for some trouble when he posted that first question about the war.

i like all the porsche/914 guys i have met so far.
we never talk about politics (unless it's a close friend, like brad) and that's for a good reason.

we have one common interest, the 914's and that's what we should focus on.

Oh yeh, no doubt about racing politics. (see thread on Brad's POC debacle) But, that's local, not world politics.

In fact, there's so much politics in racing that they don't have time for the other kind. I know. And, that is not sarcastic.

I hate politics, too. Let's talk about horsepower.
YEAH!

I've always thought that people that enjoy talking about politics probably like to jack off also since self gratification is the only result of each. lol2.gif
