Now this may be a strange question, but;
Did Porsche ever have 5 lug steel rims with chrome hub caps.
Has anybody ever taken them and had them widened?
Wes
that was the stock rim on the 914-6 IIRC and yes I have seen them widened kind of like my 4 lug steelies that are now 7" wide.

there's a 914 I am quite familiar with here in town with a set of steelies that have been widend to 10" guy WAS trying to build a race car back in the 80's. Now it sits..........
5 bolt, steel with hubcaps. I had 'em on my karma ghia.
They were off an old Porsche, chrome plated with baby moons.

Stock wheel on 356C, 914-6, early 911 and 912. Earliest were 4.5" wide, next 5.5 and by the end I think they may have been 6" (newest came on '76 912E). Will bolt up to a 914-6 or a converted 4.

Yes....
they have made silver painted, wide 5 bolt pattern (early 356), and chromed narrow 5 bolt pattern (late 356 and 912)...both patterns came with their own sized hub caps...
the narrow 5 bolt pattern wheels are the ones you want that will fit on five bolt pattern hub (130mm bolt spacing)....
few have custom made wheels that you can pretty much do as you pleased....

Dang, I forgot about the early rims!
What I'm after is a look like the photo shown by sixnotfour (the yellow car).
So I guess to be more specific, on the assumption that the yellow car has 5 lug rims with a 133mm diameter, what car was the source for the rim center section (spider) prior to widening?
Wes
Stockton Wheel widens steel wheels. Jbugs sells a 4 lug steel wheel, already widened.
