I've just pulled my 2.0l, dual carbed engine and transmission today. I'll be replacing the engine with a v8. How should I store the 2.0? It will be stored in a storage shed. I've already removed the carbs. Should I drain the oil or leave it in. In the future, I plan to install this engine in another car. TIA.

Quicksilver (Mercury outboard motors) engine storage spray. Spray a bunch down the intakes or plug holes and turn over the engine several times. Then coat the outside with it.
Leave the oil in it, plug the holes and make sure it’s stored high and dry.

Good trick keeping the oil in it if you turn it over a few times..... laugh.gif

"I" would drain the oil,,,,,do the spray, then fill it with NEW oil, and wrap it in plastic.....then store it high and dry......

Thanks guys. My next project will be to find a 'rust-free' chassis and transfer the engine and trans. I also have a parts car that I'll transfer the running gear to.
