914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Exhaust Tube Thread Size?

Posted by: BiG bOgGs Dec 18 2007, 08:53 PM

Tonight while driving home from work I quickly got a loud exhaust sound. When I got home I found one of my welded exhaust tubes had come out and looks a bit thin on thread. Anyone know a good replacement for one of these, or atleast what size thread it is so that I can rethread it.

10mm valve adjust screws work best. Use heat resistant lock tite.

Where is a good place to pick one up? The local Auto parts store?

Nope, aircooled VW parts store. They are the adjusters for the bus, IIRC. OR, you could try to match it at your local Lowes or HD to a regular bolt or something similar. I think the thread pitch is 10mmx1.0. You have the part out so it shouldnt be too hard.
