I knew there was a 911 motor adapted for aircraft, I think by mooney, but a type IV?

I would only fly in it if jake put it together.

The plans are on ebay.

I've seen a website where a guy documented his Type IV aero engine. Don't know the address.

what do you do at 5000 ft when the cam goes flat?

It's called situational unawareness... you just smile, and pucker your ass cheeks... and ignore the silence.

trim for best glide, squawk 7700, identify your nearest landing area, FLY THE AIRPLANE to a controlled landing.

'course it depends where you are, too. at MEV, it's no big deal, because you are still on the ground ...

agree.gif Look for that landing field (go with the furrows not against them). Here that would only be about 500ft. Not much time to think... smile.gif

Dub motors have been used for quite some time in homebuilt applications. The Type IV being the best of them, I wouldn't have any reservations going up with one.

Thanks StratPlayer, but who has time to surf the 914club when their cams gone flat @2600ft/AGL?

Theyv'e been doing this to the bug engines (type 1?) for years. The Adlen junk yards in Sunland have one (whole plane) each!

I like it, I'd trade it for that Ebay /6, and $10,000.
