I know the owner of this car. He is a Ex Tennis pro that has several 914's including a nice GT flared 9146. He said he would sell the 4cyl car first. He also has several early 356's and several muscle cars.

great looking car, the seam sealer seems to be applied in the correct amount also.

1076? Wasn't that the year of the famous Gaulle invasion?

Some other things that happend in 1076: Heinrich IV refuses and Gregory VII excommunicates and deposes him, but then forgives him at Canossa. Alava and Guipuzcoa went to the Castile. But later on, these both provinces came back to the Navarre.

Yeah, too bad about the side moulding. Can it be safely removed?

Since this is a '75 I'd bet it takes months to find the right buyer to pay over $10-12K for it.

Unfortunately that moulding looks like the same crap that someone put on my car and it involves drilling holes to attach it. I think it was a dealer installed option, but that car's is much higher than they usually are. You'd have to weld up or patch the holes and touch up the paint. I've been meaning to take mine off for 2 years.

Hey,
That's a great car for PCA "preservation class". It would be a bargin at $15 plus. They don't make low milage cars anymore.. You cheap thinking guys need to stop thinking about what you can afford out of your pocket. If you have the money, "buy it" & enjoy the Porsche life. I get so tired of hearing people crying about how cheap things should be. It's never going to get better. Step up or step back!!

Who is "cheap thinking" here? The reality of the 914 market is that cars like this aren't valued very highly - especially 4 cylinder, 75-76 cars. I agree that this would be a great turn-key concours car if that was your interest.

Personally I think cars like this should be going for $15K but they don't. It's pretty rare to find a 10K mile car in this condition. You only see one or two each year pop up out of the woodwork.

I need to clarify my "Cheap" remark. What I am saying it takes a lot of money to restore/modify/repair our 914's. An original car is worth the money and as soon as the collector world accepts our 914's the market will have no limit. Half the BBS members are young first time car guys with no money. They make a lot of loud bad noise & everyone thinks the cars are cheap pieces of S. That's why we need to educate & support quality guys like Brad, etc. to upgrade the level of interest in our 914's. Our 914's are growing in value. I am saying, get it now before you can't afford one. There's no reason a VW Bug should sell for more than an equal condition 914. After all it's a Porsche!!

P.S.
The side trim was a dealer installed option. Had one on mine & it was adhesive backed. It comes off with a little effort.

You are very lucky Tom! The ones on my '75 are most definitely attached with screws and mounting hardware, and they look exactly like the ones on the 10K car. I wish they used adhesive on mine!

No reason it can't be left on the car though, just personal preference.

I think with nearly that much in a car that needs paint, and suspension upgrades, and seeing Cali guys with built $5-6k cars makes me kind of pissy.
