914World.com _ 914World Garage _ Monza 4 tip

Posted by: Ray Warren Jan 11 2004, 06:12 PM

i have a new rear valance to install (no cut out for exhaust).
i was thinking of removing the inner tips of the
muffler and straighten out the remaining two
so that they are not pointing up.
has any one done this?

Y'know, they make a 2-tip "monza", I think Thunderbird makes it. I think the pipes exit from about the same spot, but theres only 2 of em' and theyre a little straighter.
I know where theres a used one I was thinking of sporting. Might be a bus exhaust, may still work I'll have to check, but what you wanna do sounds fine to me. .what about the extra holes? weld em shut?
Might work!

if the valance is fibre glass i would notch that. if you lower the tips much they will scrape when you go up or down a steep incline, maybe tall speed bumps. do you plan on running the monza a long time?
