I have the engine out due to a oil pump prob.
During the build, I measured about .037 average for the deck height. .040 is optimal.
Should I tear the top end off amd change it? Is that just being anal?
what is your compression ratio?
You run a bit of a risk of crashing the piston in to the head, but if it were me I'd run it as is.

Run it.
I have an engine with a 105mm bore that runs a .023 deck and runs great!
Rules are meant to be broken, we shred the rule book up every chance we get. I consider .035 my target.
Thank's guy's, wheeew!! that will save me alot of work.LOL
Keith
Three thousands. You are not being anal. You are beyond anal. I want to go with the absolute min on deck height on all I build.
Rules...I make the rules.

I built in 0.032". Figured at high revs the rod would stretch just enough that the carbon would be knocked off the piston.
They should all measure the same...
