914World.com _ 914World Garage _ How to install engine grill to Lid seal ?

Posted by: levonfarra Mar 22 2008, 10:29 PM

As topic states, I just bought the seal that goes between the engine grill and the lid (see photo). Is there a way to just slide it in or do I have to take the grill off?
The grill is attached to the lid with some factory rubber over metal quick screws (see photo), if I have to take the grill off, what is the best way to take those quick screws off?

Thanks,

Levon

take some plyers and squeeze them open. they're not supposed to be re-used.
then get replacements from the usual parts outlets ...

I bought a new seal but decided to leave it out after I had it installed. I think it looks cleaner like that and it's easier to wax etc. Not sure how it would look on an older paint job though since the paint may be a different shade there.
