The holes in the clevis for teh door stay that is attached to my car are worn. This causes the door stay to snap back as the door is opened. This causes a pop, and I am sure it causes the hole to continually elongate. I have repaired the portion of the stay that is inside the door, with new rollers, etc. I think "stay" is the correct term for the spring loaded bar that keeps the door from opening too far.
Does anyone know a good way to repair the elongated holes in the pivot clevis for the stay without ruining the paint on the door jam?
Thanks, JoeO
