I am trying to squeese in 4 more ski days - so I will be in the hills the next two weekends. I did drive my car last saturday however - had a blast. Started right up after being dormant for 4+ monthes!!

as for BBQ - that happened last month when a few went down to Kevin's to help move some stuff around his garage. That is the mistaken BBQ source.

This time there is no plan for a BBQ that I am aware of. The car show is a real coin-toss right now for me.

I say we shoot for a get-together afterward somewhere next month, then the long distance drivers (LDDs) aren't coming in just for coffee and a handshake. I would volunteer my place in Broomfield but I don't have a BBQ yet. If we all just want to chip in and order pizzas, I have a pool table

10AM to start ordering pizza and drinking beer may be a bit early, but maybe make the get-together start at noon and the LDDs may just want to kill a couple hours messing around in Boulder or something. Then that gives everyone a month to make it a point to get-together and meet some of the outta-towners.

Sound doable for everyone that would want to show up??

It was good meeting some new teeners

Mike and Dana drove from WY!!

Light turnout car wise, maybe 15ish cars, but with a autox today, I sorta expected it.

Once again I took car pics but no people pics, they are on the camera and I'll ad them soon.

I didn't take any. My camera pretty much sucks any more and I don't know why. It just takes lousy pics. And my cell isn't any better. Ferg? 9k original kilometer 2002? What about the 800,000k mile 77 Lincoln? Last Saturday was late 911 day, at least one Ferrari, etc... Surprisingly smaller turnout than even the prior month.

I was in a hurry to get back home to get my motor back in the 914.

man, wanted to make this one. Got the car back together again Fri evening and Sat AM was just too early to finish working on it.

BTW, apparently 4 neighbors hate my car.. had the cops there at 1:20pm because I had it running for about 20-25 minutes and revving to set the timing F'ing neighbors... it has started already. Can't even run the car for 5 minutes before some a-hole is whining about noise! Lame. Let's see, I have started that car once in the last month and a half... so needless to say won't be making any early Sat morning shows.

Cop was cool and she said she wouldn't tell me I can't work on my car, and she agreed it was BS tho' also agreed the car is pretty loud I agree too... that is why I waited until AFTER LUNCH on a SAT to fire it up and time it. Anyway, she told me to drive it around hahahaha.

Hey Mike - it is pretty sad really how people don't understand other people have different interests/hobbies/lifestyles. Kills me really.

I hate the sound of screaming kids for instance but wouldn't call the cops to have them tone down the neighbor kids out hollering in the street for instance. The cop actually said she gets those calls all the time!!! I mean, WTF is wrong with people?? It sucks to have to listen too, sure, but folks need to RELAX a little.

And I will bet you big money the people calling are the mom's that let their kids ride their bikes around in my driveway (came home early to find that one day hahaha) and scream like Banshees in the street. Bet money fo' sho'. Probably bent other people have called about their kids or just self righteous a-holes.

I see that they don't like it, that is reasonable - it is loud and annoying if you are not into race cars. We all don't like things others do sooner or later. But if they want perfect peace and quiet all the time... move to a large farm with no neighbors, then there are no issues

I try... I try like Hell to be respectful of others and limit the running of that car... but FOUR separate calls?? Sheesh.

edit - oh yeah, the honk sticker - CLASSIC. Irony at its best and I agree - plays right into the mentality of such individuals.

yep... they opened the board stuff up right after I moved in, but I was so new nobody knew me so wasn't getting enough votes to be on the board. the three that were selected were pretty well known apparently and had lived there a few years so all their neighbors voted them in.

Man, if I get a letter from the HOA I am going hunting and I am gonna find out who the people are and confront them - in a reasonable manner of course. If someone cared to simply walk over and ask WTF? I wouldn't have been upset and could have explained I was going to be done in a few minutes. The cop showed up as I was shutting the car down in fact. I was over it for the most part - now I am getting myself all wound up again

I don't need BS with the HOA. I am smart enough to not raise Hell of course and be nice and peachy should I get a letter and hopefully there won't be issues.

the 12th may work out. I am racing the 10th, would have to unload and return the trailer on the 11th... so assuming I don't break the car I could always wait a day and trailer it up there and then the slicks aren't an issue.

Plus you missed out on a small token of appreciation I brought by (in the teener) for you. Thank you again for the headlight bucket, I got that all straight now. Also managed to replace my alternator in just two (long) evenings after work, thanks to your suggestion of finding the thread here! It was good to meet everyone that showed up, though it was too many names for me to remember them all. I was very impressed with the knowledge level both of these weekends though, and it’s nice to know there’s a community out there. Thanks to everyone again!

I'm doing some touch-up paint work on the teener and still trying to dial in my carbs. If I can get a handle on both projects early enough, I'll be heading through Laramie on my way up to the Snowies. Wouldn't be a problem to pick up parts and bring'em with me Saturday.

workin' in the basement as usual - the rain is getting old I agree but at the same time, I haven't been able to be outside anyway I like it for the lawn of course, but maybe 1-2 hrs at a shot here and there, not crappy weekend, weekend after weekend.

I was going to take the car out to the new track a couple weeks ago and was snowed out, then I was going to go out a couple weeks before that and it was snowed out. So I just ripped it apart instead hahahaha - what is it, "idle hands are the devil's playground"

on a side note, there is a big "Straw Hat Gala" or whatever it's being called at the new HPR track this Sat also, all day with lots of activities and free to get into. I am taking the car to the track Friday AM (assuming no unforeseen issue next couple of days) then will turn around and drive back out on Sat for the event.

Good way to see the new track if you haven't been there.

Yep, drove the brown car last night and will drive again tomorrow am... it's pretty filthy (by my standards) and need to get busy for the Concours.

You should have seen the amount of bugs on the front from driving home last night, Hwy 93 was clear of any traffic and somehow the right foot got planted didn't look at the speedo, but wonder how fast 4800 rpm is in 5th
