Posted by: Dr Evil Jun 4 2008, 06:36 PM

Ohm, you said JUNE 14. I read JULY sad.gif I will likely not be able to make it....I'll have to see how my medicine inpatient rotations are going dry.gif

My birthday is the 16th piratenanner.gif

Posted by: atomix8 Jun 6 2008, 06:50 AM

Out of town that weekend...I couldn't make it until ~July!

But I appreciate the offer, it's a nice drive out to Frederick to your house Matt.

Posted by: plas76targa Jun 8 2008, 12:20 PM

icon_bump.gif Herb, I don't want to "cancel" yet. Where's the rest of the NoVaMd crowd?

I'll wait a few more days, then plan another in July.

Posted by: Vacca Rabite Jun 9 2008, 08:37 AM

Pssst.
July 19th. beerchug.gif

For a summer that I have "taken off" to have time with my son - it is stupid full already. Just with different stuff then it is usually stupidly full with.

Zach

Posted by: plas76targa Jun 9 2008, 09:58 AM

in whisper voice: thanks Zach.. at work we were just looking at the july calendar and I was thinking 914 stuff ... 7/12 or 7/19..... I'll lean your way on that

Posted by: atomix8 Jun 9 2008, 04:43 PM

*cough* 12th if Zach can swing it...maybe I'll have a reattached suspension console by then smile.gif

Posted by: type47 Jun 9 2008, 05:05 PM

*cough, cough* 7/19. out of town 7/12. seems i'm the only NOVA respondee. rod usually visits here. i'd love to attend and looking forward to it. i hadn't responded due to other things getting in the way on the schedule...... well, that and the fun nazi.... dry.gif

Posted by: Vacca Rabite Jun 9 2008, 06:02 PM

I am not saying that you should all cater to my schedule, but at this point, the 19th is the only weekend day in July that I am free. If the 12th (or any other day) works better, use it. I am a total dick to try and plan around.

Zach

Posted by: degreeoff Jun 9 2008, 08:12 PM

I havent been on my boat for 2 weeks and its an off weekend for my lil B' so I will be unable to make it. Mid July sounds good though...The 21st is the autoX, the 27th wkend is the Watkins glen DE...July 4th....Jeez I am out of time! I hate gettin old.....

Posted by: atomix8 Jun 9 2008, 08:23 PM

Sounds like 7/19 works better, I'm stuck at a wedding...not mine yet!

Posted by: crash914 Jun 10 2008, 08:18 PM

lets do it in july......

Posted by: root Jun 10 2008, 10:08 PM

Jim Kelly just tuned me into this post Matt!

I'm up for July 19th.... the next weekend on the 27th is The 'Rat Rod Revival' at Carlisle Bike Fest!

I plan to take "Blackie" to that one so Frederick will be a good test run to be sure she's ready for Carlisle. driving.gif

I have a Saison aging in the kitchen now in secondary, an Oatmeal Stout that I just brewed last Saturday, and an experimental pale ale conditioning in the keg right now. Any of these should be drinkable in July Haven't decided what to brew for the ECC yet, though.

Let an admin know about this thread and they will turn it color coded for you. Helps it stand out once highlighted.

okay.. I'm going to change this to 7/19. i'll change the heading and first post as well. Let's do it!

Posted by: type47 Jun 11 2008, 11:34 AM

how can we help with expenses? are you going to have the same BBQ as at the ECC? that was exceptional!

Posted by: Babydoll Jun 11 2008, 12:20 PM

biggrin.gif Wow - with the new date change, I think I can make it too! I'll see if I can bake somethin'... If the hose connection that I hesitantly smash.gif made on Babydoll keeps working, I'd love to come. Zymurgist, what baked goods go best with homebrew? Will you bring any meade??

to answer Jim (type47) - Wasn't thinking of getting X-Lbs of BBQ. I'll provide the burgers, brat's, or dog's .. if you all could bring other stuff, chips, veggies, cake, what ever - that would help.

Zach, negotiate away. We'd like to see that Jeep-truck and the new little one too!

Teener Tim - I'll leave the transmission clinic up to the good Dr. I have the space, if he wants to get greasy and work on a transmission.

I'll edit the first post to include the Yes, No, and Maybe's. just over two weeks to go...

I'm thinking pale ale. It's been aging in the keg for some time now. I'm going to keg the Saison today... that one is still a possibility but it's a recipe that I made up as I ent along so I don't know whether it will be fit for consumption. Oatmeal stout is still bubbling ever so slightly so I'm leaving it alone until it stops.

Or, in short - yes.

Posted by: Vacca Rabite Jul 14 2008, 09:45 AM

Well, unless there is a major change in the next week, I will be going to B-more with Erin for the party there, instead of Frederick. She has not had nearly the opportunity to get out the past few months that that I have, and it would be really selfish to try and begrudge this one. The kicker was that Mom was willing to sit the baby, and is right on route to B-more.

Besides, in my current "land whale" trim, I'd probably empty the pool when I jumped in.

Have a great time and know that when Evil says something inappropriate, I am there in spirt to point it out.

Posted by: Vacca Rabite Jul 18 2008, 08:05 PM

Seriously. I wish this month were not so busy. I'd like to catch up with folks, and seeing peoples cars always is a good shot in the arm. Next weekend is just as bad. I'll be on vacation up in the mountians with 4 generations of family in attendance - but there is also the biggest regional jeep show, and the biggest local VW show - both right in my back yard and hosted with local clubs that I belong to. Man, I wish I could split myself in parts to do all the stuff I want to do.

Take lots of pics and put them up. I want to see what everyone has been up to.

Yes-- a big thanks to Matt and family for putting up with a bunch of dirty car mechanics sullying their swimming hole. And to Ken for getting it memorialized in electrons, digitally.
It's always fun to see how many good combinations of aftermarket stuff, incl. engines, go well in these little beasties. I esp. enjoyed my top-off ride home as the weather moderated before dusk. Great cars. I love the power, up over 6000rpm, on my 3-liter S2 motor in my 944, but these little things are more fun behind the wheel. Now, if I could add some after-market horsepower.... Maybe after my kids go off to college-- one in a year, the other in 4 years.
Oh, yeah-- college guy Chris, what's your email? - Chris Hager, Falls Church, email in profile.
